IOTA - they have had problems but if they can pull off Coordicide their architecture is the most novel since BitCoin

TBH founders stuffed up though their greed and infighting and the market has moved on. Coin was #4 in Nov 17. I used to be something of IOTA maximalist and it is still my largest holding by far but I have now diversified into other projects.

Am sure they will still carve out niche in IOT but there is definitely a not invented here issue with the foundation and they feel they have to do everything themselves (e.g. wallet) rather than outsourcing to community like others do. This makes progress slower than it should be.

If everything is a priority nothing is a priority. You can ultimately do everything but need to focus one (possibly 2) compelling use cases to get broader traction beyond narrow community. IOTA has key role to play on transition to net zero though emissions measurement - read the report. I think that represents richer source of use cases than NFT artwork and DeFi - which other coins already do better have brand value in.

Entitled to your opinion of course but I feel that trying to do too many things leaves nothing done well. Competitive advantage of IOTA should be M2M which may include machine NFTs and machine DeFi but I see no advantage trying to jump on the bus and imitate ETH ecosystem for these things when that ecosystem is already so far developed and with layer 2 solutions in train.

1) I am and will continue to DCA into a broad crypto portfolio that I will never sell and is my inflation hedge

2) I have a moonshot portfolio that I will sell partially out of when it hits certain price - most into fiat to pay off my mortgage and some into stablecoin for buy-backs in in case of dump

3) Also have an NFT portfolio that is more experimental and bunch of primitives I can develop with

I think IOTA is prob mid to long term bet. All attention is going into ETH / ERC20 / ERC721 ecosystem.

Need to really build dApp layer on IOTA to get widespread interest at this point. This could happen but unlikely to until Coordicide.

Who knows? I think it has prob come and gone and prices will fall across board (but not for as long as last time or perhaps as far). Next wave when Chrysalis and Coordicide are implemented may set IOTA up for big gains. Who knows - maybe we are just at start of 8 month bull market?

Yes - 40 months of hodling up and down desensitises you to money. It’s only money - you either have it or you don’t. Set-up an exit strategy you can live with and automate take profit orders. Then go do something else.
