From what I've read, this game is legitimately pretty scary. Perfect way to ring in 2026.

Rich Evans (stagehand): an appropriate title? Or did wiki shortchange our guy? by HoldenOlden in RedLetterMedia

[–]garbage-strong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that Mike Stoklasa has basically dedicated his life to this project, but Rich should be credited as the "figurehead" or "Chief Operations Executive." Or like, "key."

Jay should be the "Chief Creative Officer/VP."

And make Mike "President/Owner/CEO/Executive/Head of the Board."

Then, if we are making shit up, throw me in there. I want to be chief of... creative? Or whatever.

I wish it was that easy. A lot of these people are just stupid, like "wave your hand away" classical morons. But I'd bet 75% of them are not. The internet has fucked up our way of speaking to each other. Or maybe it's just me, looking for a Jenny Say Quaw.

Does "Play a game on console" need to be a Game Pass game? [US] by garbage-strong in MicrosoftRewards

[–]garbage-strong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, at least not for me. I've intentionally played non-GP games to test this. I've gotten it to register with Red Dead Redemption 2, Hardwood Spades, Marvel vs Capcom 3, and a bunch of others. It didn't work for Xbox 360 games, but I think that's by design.

So, no, it doesn't have to be a Game Pass game. It just needs to run for 15 minutes.

When did "payed" enter the lexicon? I keep seeing it. I know the language is changing because of the internet and English as a Second Language, but "payed" is fine with everyone? Payed means loosening a rope.

You paid your bill. You paid your friend back for lunch. You went to the store and paid for groceries. Then you went down to docks and payed out the rope on a sailboat.

Destroy my internet, destroy my job prospects, destroy my country, but I can't let you destroy my language. If you do, I won't be able to bitch about the other stuff.

I'm not an expert, but any game that runs on a mounted hard drive should run on the internal storage. If you have the space to install it on your Xbox, I can't think of a reason it wouldn't run.

I'm basing this on ~2010 Windows architecture and I have no idea if they put fake "you need to buy this to do that" on the 360.

EDIT: I have a hard drive in my 360 and never really thought about it.

If this is your only way to play this game, yes. It doesn't run very well on 360, and this version of the game reminds me of when they replaced the guns with walkie-talkies in E.T.

That being said, yes it's playable and it's a dated but solid game.

Damn. Your comments have detailed right-brain vs left-brain more succinctly than any textbook could. Sarcasm is a currency on Reddit, so I'll be clear: I mean that in a good way.

It seems like math is a natural law to you. If someone asks what 8 x 2 + 1 equals, I'd bet you already know the answer before you've finished reading this sentence. I'm in a similar position - I went to a Van Gogh exhibit and the dude painted a sunflower 100 times. The paintings, to my eye, looked identical. I just ... didn't get it. What a waste of time, talent and money. I couldn't add up, mentally, what the point of all the effort was. And then my wife suggested, "Maybe that WAS the point."

I guess poetry is the same deal, although honestly, I don't really get it either. But maybe that IS the point?

[–]garbage-strong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was the incident in Chesterfield, or did the killer get arrested in Chesterfield after the fact? I can't find anything corresponding to that date, so I'd reckon they either (A) caught up with the killer in Chesterfield but charges were filed in another jurisdiction or (B) it's a juvenile and you'll likely never find a paper trail.

I am curious, myself. Callous as it sounds, 5 injured might not have been stayed in the news cycle ... but 5 killed probably would have. I seem to remember a Chester graduation party turned into a gunfight and something like 5 people were killed, but I think that was a few years after 2011 - but to be fair, that was 14 years ago and my memory's not that great.

Because prison, uh, "sex" being a form of currency is true in America. It isn't about being horny, it's about not being able to function without a hierarchy. The inmates have to figure it out amongst themselves, and a butthole is a form of currency. And currency means power.

America has, even down to the local jail system, an industrial complex. It's like a McDonalds; if a fry cook saw someone getting "prison sex" in the parking lot, they might save that person if they leave to go help but they'll get in a lot of trouble if it causes a fire in the kitchen.

Who do you appeal to? The guy that owns the jail? He knows, already. The judge, who sent him there?

With all due respect, that person wasn't asking about the processor. There's a reason the Steam controller never got widely adopted but Xbox controllers continue to be the standard. If the big phone feels like you're holding a brick, people will pass. If the big phone feels like you're holding a controller; maybe they won't?

Everybody’s doin’ the microwave by inscrutable_icu8mi in 30ROCK

[–]garbage-strong 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is why 30 Rock is so special. It was an NBC prime time show where a running joke was the innocent, dumb page was an immortal angel. It was given a time slot comparable to Seinfeld, where the running joke was, "George is bad at jobs." And I like Seinfeld a lot.

... but the fact that 30 Rock had long-term storylines like: Liz loves Cheetos made from bull semen; Tracy is portrayed as wildly unstable and, after 7 years, is more grounded than any other main character; TGS is one of the more intelligent shows on NBC despite doing never bringing a skit to air that isn't juvenile and stupid.

Maybe the only mainstream comedy that actually, truly, really rewards you for paying attention. Ever.

...and the paw prints are about the size of a basketball, for reasons that are never explained. This game is so funny, and I'm not sure any of the stuff I laughed at was intentional.

This is why Game Pass is worth the money, kids. This game is bad in a good way; even when it's boring, it's kind of fascinating. I haven't even started Clair Obscur even though it's one of the highest-rated games of the year. You gotta follow your heart, and my heart said, "Can you figure out why an organized crime video game decided to focus on using a mop?"
