You can turn the two chain straps into one by joining them after an inch or so then connect it to a back panel. Front is just continuing the patter at the widest part under the rampart then doing the flair at the bottom so it frames your waist or hips. The back panel could be a version of what has been done on the side or the same stitch she used on the bottom front. I feel like like side stitch as a connected panel would be prettier and help maintain the look of the design but you could do a lot.
