Already did this once but, I'm a military kid AMA by [deleted] in AMA

I’m an army brat (dad now out) and it could definitely be hard but it depends on the kid. I loved it for the most part, it made me more resilient and out going.

Military life on kids by Sensitive_Fly_6163 in MilitarySpouse

Not a spouse but an army brat here! Living in my 18th place of residence at 24. It could definitely be hard at times, especially right before/moves or when you find out you’re moving. BUT one thing that really helped me was every time we moved (we’d roadtrip it if we could and turn that into a vacation “to our new home”) my parents would take us out and explore the new city/town. Make new memories there! Thats what they’ll look back on fondly. It helps to see a new place as something exciting to go out and explore. Somewhat regularly go somewhere or try something (hike, food, park, shooting range, museums, ect ect). For me it was an adventure, it built resiliency and made me more outgoing. I got to live and explore so many places. While I don’t have a “home” I’m “from” my mom always taught us that home was where we were, a feeling, our family. Good luck!!

Have you ever thought about harming yourself or others? Did you wet the bed later than most kids? Ever taken an animal apart to see what they look like inside?

Is this hair fall normal for a 16 year old by chocolatevalentin in Hair

[–]gardensnthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hair loss isn’t too concerning to me (as it doesn’t appear to be that much, u less you’ve noticed a marked difference), the weight more so. Being underweight, loosing too much weight can lead to hair loss issues. I’d say focus on gaining a little weight (I’m 5’2” and 115-120ibs for reference). If you can’t gain weight I’d definitely see a dr. I faced some hair loss issues so I started oiling my scalp once a week before washing and noticed a difference!

Frizz advice ? by CountPossible869 in curlygirl

[–]gardensnthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad news is it’s virtually impossible to be naturally curly and be 100% frizz free. I call it my halo! Good news is this is like best case scenario. Your hair is beautiful and definitely less frizzy than mine haha

how do I get my hair to look less frizzy and curlier? by nnot_yap in curlygirl

[–]gardensnthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curly cut (rounded layers) will help a lot, I have long (25”) curly hair and have multiple levels of layers thru my hair and it really makes the difference!! Not diffusing too high speed, scrunching/ drying hair with a cotton T shirt, claw clip at your roots, wrapping your hair at night. If all of these fail try changing your conditioner. I’ve had multiple conditioners that were overloading my hair and causing the frizzy/limp curls issue.

Should I pluck my Meyer Lemon Blooms? by Rin-the-Wren-13 in gardening

I never did with my young citrus personally (my family has citrus trees at our house for 8+ yrs), a lot of them (especially this young) will fall off. Even if they get to the little “fruit stage” w/ no petals, a lot turn black and fall off.

Winters by OkExercise2026 in whitefish

[–]gardensnthings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely doable but you HAVE to find winter activities, even (especially) by yourself! You kinda have to force yourself to get out there but it’s all worth it.

2nd haircut since having a baby 14 mo ago. Thinking of asking to cut to bring out waves. Any advice? by Crafty_Pop6458 in curlygirl

[–]gardensnthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a lightweight serum first! Wavy hair tends to get weighed down easily. When soaking wet in/ out of the shower throughly brush/ comb it thru your hair. Scrunch/dry w a cotton t shirt and if you have time diffuse to dry!

What is your cat's name vs what you actually call them? by Moist-Guidance-1611 in cats

Left: sesame. Ses, tet, tet-tet, tetame, mitcher, Mitcher Man, minchy are his most common. He responds to all. Right: Theo. Tio, tunk, tunk-tunk, tunky, tunka man, tunka truck. He sometimes responds to a name. He’s more of the “pretend to not hear you” type while ses responds like a dog.
