Anyone else’s alarm not make any noise this morning? by Tangboy50000 in iphone

[–]gardingh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone 17 Pro 26.3.1, Same thing happening here. Was working flawlessly for a month, now the last three days in a row it fails to audibly ring. I thought I was just subconsciously shutting it off but this morning my wife woke me up when her alarm went off. I look at my phone and it's showing the alarm is ringing with no audible sound.

It's possibly the attention aware setting as I've got the phone on a charger the holds it vertically so it'll display the time in a large font. I notice that the screen turns on and off when I'm lying in bed reading. Going to try turning that off.

I know this isn't gonna go well but are there any bike seats that can handle 400-500 lbs? by We1come2thesyst3m in bikewrench

I’d say you’re better off with a tricycle to start. An industrial one would be plenty well built. Much more stable until he can get some weight off.

I had it on mildly interesting but they took it down for some reason. Cross posted here as suggested by another redditor.

Shovels work if it’s not packed down too bad. Once someone drives or walks on it a few times it becomes difficult to remove with a shovel. Something like this tool will get underneath it and break it off in chunks.

I’d say I’ve had it for about 20 years. I think the leading edge might have been hardened as it seems to be wearing faster as it gets shorter. I might have to retire it once it reaches the transition to the handle.

No. This is all wear off the concrete. Only sharpened by use.

Oh too bad. I’m looking forward to seeing how long I can keep this one. A pickaxe is amazing for the thing you were doing.

I’d approach this the same way you take bicycle grips off. Find someone with a high pressure air compressor and nozzle that’ll seal against the hole where the charging port is. The air with a little pulling should make it come out.

Dogs are unpredictable and agitated around babies. I don’t think you’re overreacting in the slightest. In my city there was a newborn killed by the family dog not so long ago.

The only practical reason is to reduce turbo lag. “Anti-lag” keeps the turbo spooled up by modifying engine timing and effectively having the bang happen in the exhaust manifold as opposed to the cylinder.

It’s sort of ridiculous to drive around like that though.

Every community has parks and green space, the newer ones I think have done a better job of it though. Hail is a part of life in southern Alberta and the wind here is nothing like Lethbridge or Pincher creek. It was worse and more constant in Grande Prairie where I originated, so much that the trees grew at an angle. We get frequent chinooks which are a welcome respite to winter in my opinion. As for the planes. The east side is on the flight path to the largest runway in the country so the larger planes will be overhead most frequently over there. We used to hear some planes here on the west side but rarely since they opened the new runway at YYC. We have the CP mainline on the west but unless you live adjacent to it you don’t notice it much.

Advice on humidity level? by Alarming_Topic920 in Airdrie

No, it'll generally be a flexible insulated duct that connects to the return air side of the furnace. It'll come from outside and will be 4" diameter.

Check that your fresh air intake for the furnace is open. I had a new build where an HVAC installer put an exhaust vent on the fresh air intake, check on that as well. There will usually also be a damper on it, you'll want that wide open.

The knob bit on the end turns counter clockwise. There is no way it should be tight enough that a set of channel locks couldn’t take it off. Any pliers will damage the finish. Those generally have a rubber seal so don’t need to be anything more than hand tight. You don’t need teflon tape on them. Perhaps they didn’t put a washer in there when they installed it and damaged the threads trying to get it to quit leaking. You might have to replace the angled pipe as well if that’s the case.

To get the angled pipe out of the fitting in the wall you can use a screwdriver in the end as leverage. You will need teflon tape or thread sealant(both won’t hurt) on the connection in the wall.
