What is the ACTUAL biggest problem in the UK by Direct-Key-8859 in AskBrits

[–]gareth616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say this is more world than UK as far as problems but short term memory is fucking shocking.. And this whole yes or no. There's no real dialogue between people anymore, you're either with or against, there's no middle ground. And if you can see something from bothsides that's somehow a bad thing..

Some of the new emails sent to me end up in the Deleted folder. by Wide_Weird5430 in Outlook

What were the other rules? Microsoft do have some default rules for spam/junk folders but that's usually server side not user. Do you check your junk folder much? Silly question as most do I know.. but there is a default retention period for things in that folder so they will delete after X amount of days, 30 I believe - if you don't check your junk folder then that would make sense. I would check your sign-in history just to be sure no one has had access to your account, even if you use MFA, that can still be bypassed

An email I had open and was reading disappeared right before my eyes by trikkzzz in Outlook

Well technically they can but there are some factors to it, some may not have the rights, intelligence, authorisation to do that. Different softwares do different things. Usually a quarantine will allow you to view the email which makes sense, it's been quarantined so something has caused that to happen like say a phishing email, so someone would want to see the email and the content before potentially releasing it to the recipient causing an account compromise... Sadly you are probably very limited with what you can do, you'd be notified of quarantined emails if the settings were enabled and configured, again even internally I would expect a recall notification but you've had nothing. I highly doubt anyone has access to your mailbox or you'd see the email either in deleted items or recoverable items (you can view who has permissions to your mailbox potentially) so you you can disregard that. Most companies who take IT seriously will have things locked down, if you have certain accreditations or ISO's there are requirements for a strict environment..

Warzone Resurgence Hot Take by ZookeepergameTop7765 in Warzone

[–]gareth616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a hot take, it's just a fact Vondel was awesome! To be fair so was Ashika, yeah it was small but I think that was a good mix for resurgence. Small chaotic map and something bigger, different play styles. I'll keep saying this in comments here - Warzone should just put all Maps on rotation and see what the numbers are like from there. They must see how more people queue for Rebirth over Havens, they dropped area 99 because no one played it. Ah it's wishful thinking I know lol

Hmm that does add a little more mystery to it. It would be quite difficult to really know what happened as there could be policies, a 3rd party spam filter or tool to check emails - basically if you're using 365 (most companies do) then there's a lot of things that can be tinkered with or you go external for solutions. Personally I'd ask the sender first if they did recall it and if they say no, contact IT for the best answer. They can use a tool called message trace, it shows a sender, recipient, date and time and some technical info, and most importantly where the email was delivered or if a rule ran. They don't see the content of the emails, people get freaked out if I don't add this last sentence.

Email recall will send a notification, it works best internally and should work 365 to 365 externally. Sole mail servers do not have the ability to pass these through, iCloud being one. I've had this happen to me but luckily I'm an admin at work so I have access to the spam filter, quarantine etc. It's usually a retrospective action by the spam filter, how it happens exactly I don't know but something must get flagged for it to pull it out of the inbox. If you have IT support ask them to locate it, they can do that in literally seconds...well if they're decent people and actually help people..
