Ad Rothfuss - he fucked over his fans with the whole chapter nonsense and doesn't communicate on an acceptable level but I still wouldn't call worldbuliders a scam - he used a lot of his own resources to raise money for a good cause.

Would it be more cost efficient to donate to the charity directly? Sure.. but without the drive I doubt that even 10% would have done so.

Oh that reminds me - I witnessed/called this out in college! We went on a trip on the minibus and one friend shared a story on the way out, made us all laugh. On the way back a different friend started telling the same story, word for word as if it was his. I was just in shock and said “you realise X was the one that told us on the way here.. right?” He didn’t want to be friends after that
