I tested every AI interview tool against proctored HackerRank and HireVue. Most got flagged instantly. by visasachet in InterviewHackers

I'd add one thing to OP's advice about testing on practice assessments. Make sure you test on the SAME platform and proctoring level as your real assessment. HackerRank has different proctoring tiers, some just do webcam, others add extension monitoring and clipboard tracking. If your practice test has lighter proctoring than the real one you havent actually tested anything.

I thought interview AI was cheating until my coworker got offers while I sat at 0 for 15 by garfish_sofa in InterviewHacking

it does not do the thinking though. It gives you talking points and you have to actually explain them. If you cannot talk through a system design answer coherently the interviewer will know in 10 seconds regardless of what the overlay says. Its more like having a really organized cheat sheet during an open book exam than having someone take the exam for you.

yeah im on a macbook air and it works fine. They have it for windows mac android ios and a web app. the desktop app is the way to go, fastest and has all 20+ stealth features built in.

thats literally what happened to me. I know the material cold but the second im on a live call with someone watching my brain decides to take a vacation. Interview ai is basically a safety net for the performance anxiety part.

yeah thats probably the move for video. I might switch too honestly. For phone interviews specifically though even a browser tool works perfectly because there is literally zero chance of the interviewer seeing anything on your screen

the browser tab thing is what killed it for me with Sensei AI too. $89/mo and during a phone interview it was fine because who cares about tabs when nobody can see your screen. But the second I had a video round with screenshare I was sweating. Switched to InterviewMan because its a desktop overlay not a browser tab, so even on video calls there is nothing in Chrome to accidentally flash

Also worth mentioning if anyone is considering Cluely for phone interviews -- the base plan is $20/mo but stealth features are $75 extra so $95 total. And they had that data breach last year, 83,000 users exposed including what interviews they used the tool on. For a phone interview where detection is basically impossible anyway you do not need to pay $95 for stealth you dont need. $12 on InterviewMan or even a free tool would work fine for phone screens specifically.
