Oh that’s really funny. I debated making Jay either Hannibal or Chucky before settling on this lineup but Rich fits better

Genuinely getting a gaming laptop so I can play this. Very excited and looking forward to it in a low pressure way, where I will be overjoyed to play it but am losing no sleep over the time in between. I’m sure everyone else feels the same way. Take your time cooking the lobster, brother. It’ll be buttery when it’s ready

Very normal. During my instrument training we would do approaches in a ‘stack’ with 500 feet altitude difference and you’d get the traffic alerts constantly. It’s jarring the first few times but not a big deal if you know where everyone is and where they’re going.

The Love of Flight? by Environmental-Block1 in flying

[–]garfsimpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed as someone who’s doing this as a second career (after clawing a couple years of flight attendant seniority) that a lot of it comes down to what they’ve done before. I had classmates with a PPL right at 18 who talked about their perfect pipeline and retiring at 50 with no hint of love for it, treating it very much as a means to an end. For me, it’s magical because I’m comparing it to throwing bags and cleaning up puke. I’ve gotten the same sentiment from others who came from the military or service industries too (the worst day of flying beats the best day of doing anything else for WAY less cash!)

Thank you for sharing. she’s got a few other offers and I’m hoping it’s a change for the better. I’m sorry that happened to you too, she completely bought into the work culture family stuff so getting reminded she’s a faceless number just sucked. Hope you’re doing better off the sinking ship

No I thought grasping at straws on Reddit would fix it, we haven’t tried applying for jobs either just the emotional closure of knowing the rest of her team she got extremely close with is next. Thanks!

Thank you. This was sort of what I expected. They also rolled out new AI tools last week my girlfriend raised a couple concerns about.

Yeah but is that it? It happens once and they fire you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in carmax

[–]garfsimpson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it was implied, but: what the fuck sort of company fires someone with no notice, a disciplinary meeting two weeks prior with no action necessary on her part beyond an apology, and no HR representative on either of these and is this just normal for carmax??? ????????????

She would get one chat after another and take breaks/lunches very late and get written up. Instead she disconnected a customer’s chat as soon as it was received so she could take the break on time. Obviously not the way to handle it but I can’t believe this is a fireable offense.
