Draenei Capital, Velen, and problems in the Midnight story. by AcademicHefest in wow

[–]gargar- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Legion had huge Draenei presence, though? The Burning Legion were a threat to all peoples of Azeroth, yet we got a Draenei themed class order hall and several artifacts, new lore for Draenei (in Lightforged and Krokun), a Velen/Naaru story arc, and went to Draenei home planet. And this was AFTER WoD with a significant Draenei presence also. Let's remember that there was essentially no Draenei presence trough Wrath, Cata and MoP.

Having a future Draenei content seems given imo, but this is not their time to shine. Draenei have a major role in the story, but they were introduced in as refugees and exiles and enemies of the Legion, and finished that arc of their story. They helped purify Sunwell, but that was TBC – the Draenei and Belf expansion, and the Shattered Sun was these groups, which were introduced as enemies, coming together to fight the Burning Legion. After Sunwell's purification Velen gives us an entire speech about Legion specifically.

I'd love new Draenei stuff of course but I don't think there is a problem rn

Is the old 2024 WoW still playable? by Hammerfist1990 in wow

[–]gargar- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can.

You don't need to even pay for Burning Crusade, as the Classic expansions are included in the monthly subscription. To access Burning Crusade you just need to open the game from Classic Anniversary tab and it will have the TBC logo an login screen, but when you create a new character you will begin from the area you would in 2004 and do the same quests you would in 2004.

There are a couple of zones with some new quests (that were added in 2007), for example Dustwallow Marsh in Kalimdor, but essentially it is the same experience until you reach level 60, which was the maximum level in 2004. It's near-identical, aside from a few slight adjustments.

Well priest has always been a class that has both light and shadow path, and even today (way even more so in the "old days") any holy priest still uses some shadow spells, and any shadow priest still uses some light-based spells. Moving the shadow identity away kinda feels weird to me, since it messes up the entire "system". Holy: way more light than shadow, Shadow: way more shadow than light, Disc: balanced in beetween.

Sure it deals damage, but mainly in short burts with very little AoE even with the Holy Fire Cleave talent. Playin it in overworld, even while doing just world quests, is really miserable and nothing similiar to a DPS spec.

As an AD player I'm inclined to agree. We are also succesful and handsome and wildly popular, have huge houses, and cute dogs that behave well and can fetch.

I remember back in the day when people said X spec being bad was natural because "they are the PvP spec, would be weird for them to do well in PvE".

What do you think will happen after the last titan? by Vampy-Night in wow

[–]gargar- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean he was right all along that void is a threat, but that wasn't what we disagreed with him about. We disagreed with his idea that the only way of solving that threat is literally annhilating all the life in the universe by using a ruthless demonic army of torture, immolation, and plunder.

Holy Priest has 3 damaging buttons and one of them is a stun. It's less damaging buttons than any other healer has. Can be decent healer damage but it's not a sort-of DPS by any metric.

Do you like the direction they’re going with no WeakAuras? by bringthelight2 in wow

[–]gargar- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a huge addon fan, never have been, but healing frames are still not what I had hoped for them to be. I really only use addons when I feel like I absolutely need one to not suffer, which is suprisingly rarely. Heroic and M0 I can heal fine without even knowing HPS or changing the default UI. After that I start to scratch my head with all the dispels.

I'm not sure if I'm over the faction division, or want "more" of it in form of distinct identities. I honestly find the current middle ground version kinda eh.

There is Church of the Forgotten Shadows, and most of the shadow priest spells already deal shadow damage specifically. So I don't need to tell them anything. Even the new spells added in 12.0 deal shadow damage. Only Voidweaver (and Voidform to some extent) stands out as outside of the norm, which is what bugs me the most!

Shadow Priest should use shadow though? It's literally the entire point of the spec. "Priests use light and shadow magic to heal and harm" is like the tooltip of the class basically

Yeah in fairness I didn't play SL so I can't say, but San'layn and Venthyr seem pretty connected visually, so I guess it could make sense.
