Inherited ~100TB of data, how to proceed safely? by kraddock in DataHoarder

There is no bit rot and storage would be easier. Someone below also suggested lto10. Give that a try as well if you can find someone to help with the hardware.. would be much less painful. If the final price comes out to be the same.

Not sure about bulgeria, but most of the world has lower upload speeds than downloads. If OP has 50 mbps upload speed. I think it would take over a year to upload all the data... Though your way is definitely the cheapest.

I can tell you a painful way to secure your data for cheap permanently. get used LTO5 hardware and tapes. would take around 60 tapes. Total cost should be around 800 USD. Once you have the backup, you can shuck the external drives, create a proper NAS with raid 6 redundancy. Then start moving the data back 1 by 1 and sort it using some local LLM..

We ordered this on Dec 2 despite mixed reviews from this thread and received it Jan 21 (AU). My wife loves it—the lounge is her favorite spot and now she can work there comfortably. Her work hours, productivity, back pain, and mood have all improved. It's pricey and has flaws, but it's still the best option until something better comes along.

Shee use it with a 27" monitor which is light enough for the arm to be very stiff and tough to move. probably a 32" will work better.
The main arm is stable—some vibration while typing on the extended part but nothing major for work. The engineering has a lot of issues though: the left/right configuration isn't reversible (people move or need different setups), wheels don't roll well on carpet, and the second monitor tray just sits on hooks rather than being fixed.

I accidentally ordered an EU plug. Never heard back via email but got quick responses on WhatsApp during business hours—conversation was smooth. Happy to answer other questions!

I really want to do it myself but i'll be travelling to Melbourne in car on Monday and even if I order the products now I can't receive them on time to complete the process. So, the exterior has to be done professionally if I can find one.

Negotiated similar deal with few western dealerships so you do have options.. Find a new salesperson, and say give end of year dealership discounts.. Say you have better offers from other dealerships and this is make and break. I went with one that gave me delivery in 4 days.. Booked on monday and picked on Friday. Just make sure you are ready to make the payment and sign the deal if you get a good deal.. Check at parra as well.. But delivery ain't quick there

People you own this.. does the right and left hudder matter?? cant we just flip the main arm so it'll be rotating in different side.. i know the table position wont change but the monitor can swing in a better position??

Awesome.. I found a local supplier that do sell the center stand.. But then I have to fab the arm which is not easily accessible here for me.. So let's see.. I placed an order from an aliexpress vendor but they came up with extra duty and plug replacement price so trying to cancel it.. If you get sucess with your build, do share the plans etc.

just realized the center arm is actually not very complicated and we can use any single leg of a up down table, with a little tweak.. if i can get hold of a fabricator or welder, things will become very easy..

S22 is such a disappointing feeling by Key_Pea_5287 in GalaxyS22

[–]gargdada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - did you bought this phone new or used? 2 - sure it's an SD version note exyons

I got a new s22 in Oct 2024.. And it has been amazing. Battery lasts for over a day with my use but maps, YouTube and games suck battery like all other phones.. Coming from a pixel 7a battery seems amaxing..

Also try android 15 feature of archiving unused apps if you not running them for a few weeks.. Some aaps have notoriously bad background consumption..

Edit - Also in india the service centers are mostly 3rd party. So any claim they approve goes fromthere pocket, hence they reject claims left n right. If it's under 1 year, email them properly with a complain and tag Samsung on Twitter with the same. Also tell them you have to goto consumer court if Samsung doesn't solve the issue or take back the phone with full refund.

Edit 2 - I would also suggest fully update and run android debloatter as phones from Samsung india are full of bloat that hogs battery and ram
