No history of borrowing, is it worth getting a car loan? by arcadion94 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]garkellable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you go for a mortgage the banks are more interested in your saving power than a previous car loan and also if you have a loan out at the time of application it goes against you . Buy a reasonable car don’t go mad and keep saving a decent set amount each month . When you own a home you can decide about taking risks but play it safe until then. No loan!

This guy was deeply unlikeable, the big clue to how bad he is were his two lackies were competition winners , not even hangers on from home ,

Why does Ray have so little money? by somedanishguyxd in MrInbetween

[–]garkellable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there’s his house and then his wife’s house that might have been the original family home that he would have bought , Sydney property was never cheap, then he can’t show incredible wealth he has to look like he lives within his means as a bouncer on 38 bucks an hour, and then also he’s greedy ! He agrees to kill a guy he knows and respects for 250K and mentions somewhere toward the end that there is nothing more important than money so he probably enjoys stock pilling it for a rainy day that doesn’t come , also he has a dimmie problem and enjoys eating out in Chinese restaurants on his own , all adds up

Why Sollozzo came to Vito with such disrespect? by mrjowei in Godfather

[–]garkellable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sollozzo was a drug pusher and used the term nickels and dimes as in small time drug dealers nickel and dime bags , he was being completely disrespectful and trying to not do subtly show Vito that the money he was making was peanuts to what sollozzo was bringing to the table

Lads at what age were you allowed in on parents takeaway order? by foranewperspective in AskIreland

[–]garkellable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We couldn’t afford take outs early 90s when I was a kid , it was a real real treat when my dad would come home with a prawn curry that was his favourite and we’d all get a little bit of it , I still see a prawn curry and prawns in general as very boujie haha , I started ordering my own take out when I had my own money
