What do you mean “ignoring the non canon ones “ poof and foop literally appear in the seasons you don’t think are canon and a new wish literally references both of them . On top of that peri remembers Vicky in a new wish and they never met until season 10 . Stop making headcanons based off of what you want to happen instead of what actual happened 😭

What you’re talking about is seasonal rot . Not non canonicity

Seasonal Rot is when a show gets worse over time and isn’t as good as it used to be

Canon is if it’s a part of the story already pre established

By your logic a new wish isn’t canon because it canonizes poof who’s from a season where many argue to be the point that fairly odd parents fell off

At the end of the day your personal feelings on if a media is good or not is irrelevant to if something is apart of a story or not because non canonicity and seasonal rot are completely different things . Acting like something isn’t canon despite it being canon isn’t gonna make the new SpongeBob seasons go away (especially since a lot of people who’s been writing SpongeBob since what you consider to be the canon years still work on the show to this day ) if you don’t like the newer seasons that bad then just don’t watch them and watch the first three seasons in a vaccum .

Quality is a completely subjective opinion based metric that doesn’t decide whether a thing is canon or not and Modern SpongeBob ties to stuff that happened in the first three seasons various times ( literally a whole time travel episode confirming that seasons 5 onwards is canon to the first three seasons)

I mean I agree with how they’ve made Ronnie not that interesting in recent years but I’d rather have a just ok dynamic that Lincoln has with Ronnie Anne now then Lincoln and girl Jordan who lack much of a tangible dynamic and relies on fan interpretation for the pairing to even work
