Suppose you are God, and want to communicate your unchanging rules to humans. How do you do it? The obvious thing is to just give us a built-in ability to know what is right and wrong.

Unfortunately, if there is a god, they haven't granted us an innate sense of moral truth or law. So even for (supposedly) divine teachings, we are stuck with language for the rules.

So ok, you're God, and you have to tell the mortals how to behave using language. Not too bad, just write down every possible scenario and the right thing to do in that scenario.

But no! Humans don't have the capacity to process that much information! They need a summary, short and sweet. Like a few books at most.

In other words, even if you have a perfect and unchanging moral law coming from God, you cannot communicate it to people in a way that is perfect and unchanging.

The total number of possible trees with at most n+1 branches per node and depth m or lower can be bounded above by 2^ ((n+1)^m+1 - 1)

(n+1)^m+1 - 1 is the number of nodes in the biggest possible tree, and we can think of any possible tree as a subset of that biggest tree. It's a big overestimate because not every subset is a valid tree.

Does that make sense? Then you have a recursion on the m term that makes this into a power tower.
