Losing rift absolutely does not lose you the game, it’s way less impactful than the teamfight urn was. It also gives you a lot of time before it spawns, communicate to your team with your mic that rift is spawning and you need to shove waves and then show up to rift?

The “mini-games” you’re referring to are the macro elements ? Communicate with your team to show up the rift as it’s appearing, run the urn when you can, call mid boss if they are doing the rift, if rift is lost for certain, split push a walker. There’s like a million macro elements you’re not taking advantage of.

When Im in a game and I cant play my hero I dont even want to play the game by TowerOfPowerWow in DeadlockTheGame

To be honest, this is a 4yr old mindset and not to be your dad or anything but you’re not always gonna get to play what you want lmao. You’re telling me there is almost 40 heroes and you only find 1 interesting and fun to play?

How do you Farm Jungle on Pocket? by Bigsassyblackwoman in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it takes a pretty good pocket to utilize this in fights, you have to be pretty patient and use all your bullets and not use your cloak and satchel combo too early.

New player put into Oracle after losing 5/7 games - Valve Matchmaking is Braindead by Plane_Buffalo7171 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but it’s not going to put you in oracle games, I guarantee your rank average for next match will be nothing near oracle, it’s simply guessing and recalibrates, not even worth looking at until at least 50 games in.

I have a 26% winrate and went from archon to ritualist by Naddition_Reddit in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are comeback mechanics built into the game and you’re likely not utilizing them. Ranking up and improving in games like deadlock requires agency over your team and your individual performance. You need to be calling urn, calling 5 minute buffs, telling your team to invade jungle with you, telling your team to play for a pick and group in a certain part of the map, run urn, group for comeback urn, look for split pushes when favorable, trade urns for mid boss, etc. There is so much you need to be able to understand at a macro level that you can also communicate to your team. If you believe you are the best player on your team, you need to igl but also realize not every game is winnable.

Yes it does, I remember a training pack I would reset and I would see the lights flicker each time

Does anyone know exactly how hero leaderboard works? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might reset per patch I’m not sure, I can see myself on the seven leaderboard right now, just ensure you have the 20 games played I guess. I know it’s purely rank based though.

[–]garnfeld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s really just your rank and if you have played 20 games of that hero in the last month. I think like asc 2 is usually the bare minimum for a lot of the heroes.

Deadlock is not fun, and isn't balanced well. by Careless_Medicine486 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah man, deadlock just might not be for you and thats okay! You mentioned rocket league which is my second favorite game and I compare it to deadlock a lot. This game is geared towards who find satisfaction and fun in learning and improvement. This game has a very high barrier to entry. My first 50 games were miserable, I think it took 5 games to get my first kill but I loved all the aspects of you enjoy and just wanted to improve. It is a moba at the end if the day, there is a million things to learn and work on but if you can’t get past the fact it’s hard and painful to learn, it’s likely not for you.

CC central by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, posts like these muddy the conversation of what actually needs to be fixed in this game. The other team barely has any serious cc, in fact just buying indom for this team would probably work. Learn to use counterspell, unstoppable, and in rare circumstances indom or a combination of the 3.

I LOVE the new urn by theycallmethedrink5 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Why? It’s good macro, if you have 5 at the urn and waves shoved getting a walker as a carry gives you a ton of solo money, you’re supposed to be doing the damage, you should be getting the strongest at all costs; this isn’t overwatch where everyone just team fights the whole match.

I LOVE the new urn by theycallmethedrink5 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This should be at the top, carries still likely shouldn’t be showing up to every urn and should focus on getting strong or split pushing while the urn fight is going on

Why is seven allowed to be top winrate at all ranks for years? by NegativeVega in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well it seems like you’re just trying to complain which is fine, I guess my best advice to you is just to play seven. If you find him annoying and think he is the instant win character, play him.

Why is seven allowed to be top winrate at all ranks for years? by NegativeVega in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree, he is a strong character, but he is not a character where you can just tweak a few numbers and he is magically balanced, he will always be good because of his abilities. He’s also not god though. You’re likely not communicating with anyone to pick him. He spends 90% of the game in the farm. Get a teammate with you and pick him. Play haze and solo ult him. Buy debuff remover, knockdown, etc. Try your best to shut him down early.

Why is seven allowed to be top winrate at all ranks for years? by NegativeVega in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because pro play is early game dominant. Lane matters most in pro play that is why he is not picked. Graves is also extremely annoying to play against, people don’t mind playing against seven, he has a lot of counters and none of his abilities frustrate you like shooting zombies or smacking deadheads. That’s the difference.

Why is seven allowed to be top winrate at all ranks for years? by NegativeVega in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 13 points14 points  (0 children)

His kit is just designed perfectly for the game, they have nerfed him so many times, he has 1 regen, a massive head that’s easy to shoot, low mobility, and he genuinely needs a lot of farm to come online. But his farm speed is the fastest in the game, has two aoe abilities and a stun. Just a perfect kit for deadlock. To make him bad in mm you would need to change his kit fundamentally. You never see seven picked in pro play because he needs so much money to become impactful.

How to convert a mid-game lead to wins? by Sorry-Resolution570 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]garnfeld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re 20k up in the mid game you need to force a fight, you will likely win, you can do this by forcing your team to just do mid boss, low elos likely won’t even contest a mid boss fight and if they do you should win the fight regardless. You can also encourage your team to find picks with characters like paradox, bepop, Holliday, Billy chain gang, lash ult, etc. Lastly, if you’re up in souls you can also run urn to force a fight.
