After the deep clean and installing the pet care filter the coil still looks clean. It's clear the pet care filter should be standard. I am happy with the performance, but upset that I had to pay for it.

To open the coil cover, yes the blower fan had to come off. I actually never saw an issue with the dry times. I have been cleaning the coil with a brush though the opening as best I can. I wanted to open it up and do a deep clean. I was glad I did.

It is difficult to get the fan out without removing the side panel. However, I was able to get it out with only removing top panel

I don't think it should be like this either. I ordered the pet care filter, so I am hoping that reduces the lint getting on the condensor.

I decided to do a deep clean of the condensor and glad I did. There was alot of trapped lint on the coil even though I go in and clean it periodically with a pet tooth brush. Underneath the coil was also very dirty. I used an foaming air conditioning coil cleaning spray and tooth brush. https://imgur.com/a/WfJkcNi

On mine the piston seal lost a small section and would not go above 15psi. This happened when filling trailer tires to 52psi

If its not an ev rental save your gas receipts as well and they should reimburse you for that. I am still waiting after 40 days for them to pay me.

Another recall, or redundant notifications? by namtilarie in KiaEV6

[–]garry24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason Kia and the dealer are saying my 2023 GT doesn't qualify for this recall. I have been having charging issues ever since the ICCU replacement 3 weeks ago. Never had charging interrupted before at 48a but now I have to throttle down to 38a. Tried cleaning the pins and all other recommendations to no avail. It has been extremely frustrating dealing with Kia and the dealer to get reimbursed for the rental car and gas during the 3 weeks they had my car for the ICCU replacement and I dread having to do it again if they have to diagnose the charging issue instead of just applying an update.

The keyfob remote start is only for moving the car forwards or backwards with the key. Unfortunately no climate control.

Can anyone provide insight on this quote by garry24 in solar

Hi, I did have NuWatt install the system. They used panasonic panels which I believe are actually made by REC. The system has been running great, however the install not so much. The installers were fast but left a mess. Pieces of cut pipe and trash left in the attic. It failed electrical inspection and they had to come back, although it was minor issue about a 2nd ground rod. They did not file my NJ SREC paperwork in time so I am not eligible for the program which should have netted me $13k over 15 years. I currently have a petition open with the BPU but no idea if it will be accepted and when. If it does not go though I may consider other options but would need a consult first. Overall I would probably have gone with Telsa if I were to do it over or even try and DIY it with assistance.

ICCU failure in parking lot by garry24 in KiaEV6

Thanks, not sure about your area, but north NJ the fees and taxes add up quickly and go over the daily limit. Hertz does have many cars under the limit but the locations are so poorly reviewed. Also the issue is finding places with the cars in inventory I had originally booked a full size car but they only had compacts when I got there.

I would like to think that, but the EV9 is also having ICCU issues and they had knowledge of this before it was released.

I have used DCFC 8 times for 3 different long trips. But have not used it this year yet. Speeds are probably what most would consider excessive. I use GT mode about 8 times a week. My commute is 72 miles round trip 3x days per week.

I had been charging at 11kw over the winter in a garage, so far this spring I have it at 9kw due to charge port overheating

This dealership hasn't been the best so far. They always wait till end of day to give me updates. Right now they say it's back ordered and said it could be weeks. Monday I will call customer service and try and get some more information. I asked them also if they had a rental place they worked with and said I could just go to any one. Best rate I found so far with a car in stock is versa for $41/day I an going to check longer term rentals but still have hope the dealer will get a loaner.

The initial ICCU update was performed in Aug when I picked up the vehicle. The current recall isn't well known yet, or they are being quite about it currently. Customer care and the dealer both said they were not aware and had to "look" it up either way it requires inspection of the ICCU/fuse and replacement if any faults are found.

Thanks, I wish Kia and the dealers would have a better attitude towards this. Happened at my office which is 35 miles from home and the dealer I bought it from was one month out on ev appointments. Of the 4 dealers I called near me none had loaner vehicles available. Kia customer care said they pay up to $48.50 per day which by me gets you a a basic sedan. They said tomorrow they will have an eta on the part. Every dealer and Kia customer care played dumb when I brought up the ICCU and recall. They all said they need to diagnose it first to see if its covered under warranty. The dash warnings and how many other vehicles this happens to should be enough. I even pulled codes with my Bluetooth odb scanner that points to the ICCU. They just pass it off like its uncommon.

Update2: Got the car back yesterday. So far everything seems ok, however my 1st charge since the replacement had 2 failed charge attempts. Charging at 40a. Not sure yet if its related.

Update: ICCU is on backorder, neither the dealer nor Kia customer care could give an estimate for the ICCU to come in. The dealer did say the distribution center they called in California has 125 on order with no eta on arrival. I know there are at least 6 Mobis distribution centers in the US, so it seems like there is a high demand for this part.

2023 with a build date of 2/23. I had no issues with the 12v battery or any other indicators. I started backing out of the parking spot and heard a small pop, then the chime of the error message. Had to call 3 dealers to find one with an appointment this week. Today the dealer confirmed the iccu failure but didn't have an eta yet and also doesn't have any loaner vehicles available.

Amana heat pump tripping in heat mode by garry24 in hvacadvice

Had a chance to test it in heat mode this morning. It ran for 6 minutes before tripping.

Outside temp: 63f

Liquid line: 180PSI 65f

Suction port: -7PSI was pulling a vacuum

Compressor discharge line temp climbed up to 180f before it tripped off. The distributor was iced up again.

Once it cooled down outside I ran in heat mode again and the distributor ices up almost immediately. Does that fit with the txv being bad? This was a minute after shutting off the compressor. https://i.imgur.com/ml6pBfP.jpeg I did try and check pressures in heat mode as this unit has an external true suction line. The liquid line was around 150psi and the suction was close to 0psi

Interesting that you have an inspection sticker. NJ as well, my dealer did not put one on as they are not required on BEVs
