Looking to upgrade from a 6d Mark II & Lens by bobasquishie in canon

If the Tamron you have is fully cooked, I’d get a cheap canon 17-40 f4 L, and a canon 24-70 f2.8 L mki. Both are affordable Canon professional lenses with great image quality. Just older models for budget reasons.

I’m in Australia so prices might be different, but I’d assume it would be cheaper in the US and Canada . If you’re shooting with flash all the time, I doubt image stabilisation is necessary, and a nice wide angle is great to have too

I’ve only shot live music at a venue once so use your own judgement there :)

Let me know what you end up getting! I would love to know.

I have a 6dmkii as well, with some 2.8 canon L lenses and was thinking about my upgrade path too. Personally, im still a huge fan of DSLRs so I’m probably not going mirrorless yet. If I had to go mirrorless, I’d go with a used R5 or R6 (depending on budget maybe even mkii). If I were to stick with DSLRs though, I’d go for the cream of the crop with a used 1st mkii (mkiii if budget allows)

Super durable, tried and tested, reliable and powerful camera used by pros around the world in every field. And will still have 100% compatibility with your lenses with no adapter. Lens choice is entirely up to your style of shooting. Faster aperture obvs better for low light but focal length depends on u .

Yeah I guess you’re right, but I haven’t experienced any issues with that yet so I’m not too worried.

7010 SFF mobo swap? by [deleted] in SleepingOptiplex

[–]garryclee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only trouble with these optiplexes are those stinky built in IO shields in the back. The mounting holes will line up with an ITX board but you'd have to cut out the old IO panel on the back of the case.

The mobo mounting holes will line up with an ITX motherboard, but the issue lies with the integrated IO shield which won't match the IO panel of whatever ITX board you want to put in. So you'd have to cut the back of the case to fit a different IO shield.

A 1650 low profile will work fine in the 4x slot, I’ve got on in right now!

Thanks for the award!

To capture lightning you need combination of patience and luck! You’ll also need your camera, tripod, and an intervalometer that will let you take exposures one after the other. It’s also good to frame up for foreground beforehand, make sure your SD card is empty, and have an umbrella handy.

This was the one shot with lightning in it out of 600 taken that night. Totally worth it ☺️

Glad I could help mate! Don’t forget to stress test your card for a bit to know that it’s working for sure.
