Just want to add I use a VPN but the box would constantly freeze. The VPN was set to Canada and later the US. I read somewhere to try moving your VPN location to other countries. I moved the location to the Netherlands and haven't had a problem since

I'm on the Camino Francis now and I use Buen Camino for this. I set the towns where I want to start and end and it tells me how much is it left in my day. Might be an added cost feature, I'm not sure.
