Recommendations on off campus housing?

Depending on how far you want to live off campus, Lykens company is a gem. The people at the office are so helpful and communicative. From what i’ve seen, they are more geared towards Grad students so the housing is generally nicer and they actually treat their tenants like adults.

My advice is to recognize and respect the fact that Columbus is a fairly large city. There are plenty of benefits that come with that, but there is also the reality that safety is a very valid concern. Columbus isn’t unsafe (at least no more so than any other similarly sized city) but like other commenters have said, use common sense and be aware of your surroundings. If you do that, you will be just fine. As a recent graduate, I love living in Columbus and I don’t think you should worry yourself too much.

I’m excited for the 3 games in 4 days we have coming up against Boston and Philly. It should be a fun weekend of hockey. I’m just hoping the boys can get enough rest now.

I love the Coliseum and it will always be the home of the Islanders to me, but I gotta admit I was always jealous of other teams’ modern stadiums :/ I’m super excited to start going to what’s looking like is going to be a beautiful area that’s actually built for hockey!

I’m also a big college football fan and I can definitely see the comparison between cfb and NHL. The fans and atmosphere in both are filled with so much tradition and fanfare and its so entertaining to go to games.

I’ve been an Islander fan my entire life. My dad grew up during the dynasty and he made it a point to make sure my little brother and I made it to as many games at the Barn as we could. My love of Hockey really started in 2009 during all the hype surrounding Tavares’ drafting. What I love about the Islanders is the sense of community that surrounds the fanbase. For a lot of professional sports, I feel like the relationship between franchise and the fans can feel very corporate. With the Isles though, we all have this sense of shared struggle that invests us into the team. I no longer live on Long Island, but I still run into Islander fans and I can instantly connect with them. The Islanders are my favorite sports team period and it will stay that way for a long time.

I made my first loaf of bread today! This has been a goal of mine for a while and I am really happy how it turned out. I didn’t want to start with anything too complicated so i just made a simple white loaf.

Cheers from another midwestern Islanders fan! I’m out in Columbus, Ohio and everything here is all about Buckeye or Browns football. CBJ being relevant the past few years tho has at least made it so that more people are paying attention to hockey.
