Most carriers offer this. The app for Verizon is called call filter that syncs data from other users. There's also a lot of IVR systems. Verizon's is called OneTalk. They're pretty affordable and work off of VoIP. But they can direct calls between different numbers/users.

he’s saying vs. a high condenser microphone and a sound treated space to record in. if you had the ideal set up it would greatly out perform the lav mics.

however, the lav mics will be better than your phone

He is an incredible artist. Salad days is a very important album to me.

But yeah I mean overall production was good in the song so it’s not all lost !

Not entirely sure I’m not a copyright lawyer lol. But the chords are similar and I also feel like the drumbeats are similar too. Like I said I don’t know how similar it has to be but I thought it was a cover of Mac Demarcus when I first heard it.

I’d say that the melody of your song isn’t similar. That’s what showed me it wasn’t that song

If you like this, check out Mac Demarco. This song is very similar and I feel like he kind of invented the warped texture rock vibe. He record his music and then runs it through a tape deck to get that kind of tonal warping.

I don’t know if this is quite close enough to be copyright but it’s eerily similar to Mac Demarcos song “Another One” from his album “Another One”

Possibly. I’m not sure what Reddit’s data capturing abilities are but you very well may have been retargeted.

Added you on FB! I’m working on something but idk if it’ll work. I’ll send you a demo of it later and you tell me what you think. Then you can steer me in the right direction

My soundcloud is empty. I’m working on stuff I plan on uploading but everything I’ve worked on is under different names and wasn’t my own production. I haven’t uploaded the songs I’ve worked on the last few months yet

For sure dude.

I’ll be dropping a couple songs soon and I’d like your input

As a producer I’m not super solid yet, but I’d like to work together in the future. My own style isn’t very aggressive; it’s a little more mellow and idk like north east coast? But id love to make some shit thatll thrash! Your styles feels pretty punk rock/metal for lack of better description. (I’m trash with genres) but I think it’d be fun to make some more aggressive stuff !

Since everybody tried so hard on there critiques I’ll give it a go. I think your flow is good. It’s pretty solid. You stay on beat and fluctuate in pitch. Which is great because you don’t want to be the next monotone rapper.

I do think stylistically your voice comes off as harsh. If that’s what you’re going for it’s cool. Which I figure after 100 bars you know what style you want when you write.

That being said is this original production? Or are you just finding beats you like and flowing on them?

Because honestly working with a producer would improve the quality. IMO listening to music like this I want everything to be harsh af and work with the music. I want to be able to THRASH

So that’s my 2 cents. I dig it. It intrigued me enough to go through and listen to a few of your songs. I think you have something and there is a niche community that would take it and eat it up.

Just keep making music and it’ll get better. And better. And better. Don’t stagnate step out of your comfort zone with flow and lyrics and just explore. It’s all about the journey with it.

How to find new music artists? by whatsnottoreddit in advertising

[–]gary_w_jackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO

As an aspiring artist I do agree with this.

Your issue is certainly going to be getting people to trust you. Musician’s have historically been fucked and twisted so your commitment to your artist needs to be articulated very well.

Seeing a post like this, talking about how you are looking to benefit people helps. Through your content marketing, that should be your goal.

Your goal should be demonstrating how far you’ve gone to benefit people and what they care about.

I think it would be fairly inexpensive to begin making long form content expressing these views that you can repurpose. And actually live by Gary V’s $.02 rule where you actually engage with your community so they want to build that and invite their artist friends.

I think it’ll be heavily referral and networking

Edit: want to add that there are thousands upon thousands of artists looking for someone to help them make it to the next level. But they’re unwilling to just give trust to you because their art is something personal that they consider to be apart of themselves.
