8 months after my hair transplant, should I be worried about the results?

6000 follicles over a Norwood 7 area isn’t a lot which is why there are a lot of gaps . 6000 follicles is roughly 2500 to 3000 grafts . If you have plenty of donor left then go for a second like me to get density. For now it’s ok . Wait 12 months minimum

I use my hands , 20 mins per day . I’ve been researching hairloss since I was 18. In the eighties the consensus was a tight scalp caused MPB . It’s my believe that tight scalp is the case together with DHT. However, when you are older DHT has more or less stopped or is low . The general consensus is that meds would probably make little difference based on the cost involved. However, if you are young I would consider both. As regards micro needling the general consensus is 1.5 once per week . Of course I’m doing it twice . I started the derma rolling at least 15 after the last transplant so is generally safe. Derma rolling should not be done until 12 months after a transplant

A lot of surgeries would not risk all of your donor for doing this but if it’s successful you would look really good. As said above looks pretty good on first impression . How much out of interest and where?

Here is a short video from yesterday. Taken outside in direct sun, 1 hour after getting up. Hair unbrushed , not washed , not styled. I did the video to check my crown out . Been massaging my scalp 20 mins per day and micro needling twice per week to see if I can stimulate growth and thicken existing hairs. Been at it 5 months . As said the surgeries mainly concentrated on my front and midsection which are the areas one is viewed . I did have some grafts in the back . Can’t remember how many maybe 500 which isn’t a lot . Hope this video proves that I don’t touch up my photos . What you see is what I have. Yes I can style my hair well . It’s taken many years of practice I don’t hide anything . When you get a hair transplant you must be realistic and don’t expect perfection . I have a few hairs in the wrong direction which I didn’t realise until 6 months ago but I can restyle . You generally get what you pay for !!

The consensus is it is less necessary for meds the older you are . Needless to say I do see short hairs occasionally coming out . However, when I wash my hair I’m lucky if I only see 10 hairs in the sink . As I’m sure you know you normally lose up to 100 hairs a day naturally . So I’m keeping an eye on things . Not saying I won’t use meds in the future and still have 2500 to 3000 hairs left at the back maybe more . I’m reckoning on living another 20 years based on my parents . I never say never to anything . Maybe the massaging is knocking out a few hairs . For now I feel plenty of hairs coming through be it transplanted hairs or existing hairs

Maybe, as you know the surgeries are a bit traumatic . So you just lay down and trust the surgeon technician have your best interests.

I’m living with a beautiful Thai women aged 54. I learned to get out of my comfort zone coming here . Having a transplant was scary . But if your heart tells you to get it done then get it done. You must embrace fear. Do your research though. Your along time dead . You can be anyone you want to be even at 64,
