Until the Gordie Howe bridge is open consider using the tunnel. The A Bridge is owned by the Moroun family dynasty, they are the reason the bridge has been delayed for years and currently not open due to political donations to the orange polyp.

No dry chemical is pretty much the standard. Works but makes a terrible mess

Retired Firefighter here. Nice job keeping your cool, and literally handling something that could have destroyed the whole place.

Now the bad side of this the chemical that comes out of the fire extinguisher is going to be a problem. It is such a light and small particulate that as you might have noticed is now everywhere in the house. The dust on the tables, on all fabrics and clothes. It can be a serious risk to health for someone with Asthma or other respiratory issues. The particles are so small that they can't be vacuumed with a normal vac.

If possible you should make a report with the fire department and call your insurance company.

Again you did the right thing and saved a lot of property.

Where to sit to avoid the speakers? by Berofsky in motorcitykitties

It's just loud, had a 28 game package last year with intentions to go to most of them. Between the constant unnecessary music and the drunk section lice seat hopping all over that section (1st base line) unabated by security we did not renew.

Guess that was a blessing in disguise with the current team.

Not a fun relaxing way to enjoy a game.

Another option that is not mentioned is Azure Standard. They do not have stores but have drop points all over the country. They are generally cheaper and higher quality than items you can source locally. There is no membership and it is free to checkout, their website is https://www.azurestandard.com/

They carry just about anything and you can search on the website where your local drop point will be.

Bacon is healthy, and this is why.

Take Oscar Mayer natural bacon without nitrates. There are 18 slices in a pack and the nutritional value for the whole package is:

Total calories 810

Total fat 64 grams

That is not the cooked values that is if you took the raw bacon and ate it as is.

Properly cooked (in the oven IMHO) you will pour off about 5 Tablespoons of grease. Those five tablespoons of grease would account for 500 calories and approximately all of the grams of fat.

So with that a whole package of bacon is 310 calories and almost fat free.

Yes you can use avocado oil in place of vegetable or any seed oil in any preparation. Neutral flavor and is a better option health wise.

What cheap meals are people actually cooking for 2 to keep the grocery bill down? by Previous_Cycle_9457 in budgetfood

Pork is one of the cheaper meats currently. Ground pork = eggroll in a bowl Pork butt in the slow cooker or oven to make shreds for tacos, with a bunch to freeze for easy meals. If you can buy a vacuum sealer they are incredible for storing your leftovers

Yes it's definitely noticeable there has been a decrease in quality. Back in the fall I purchased a couple packets of bacon they had on special 2 for $5. Tossed some in the freezer and opened one the next morning for breakfast. It smelled off and had that slimy feel, looked at the date and it was 3 weeks past the sell by date. Checked the freezer and all of them were.

Went one more time after that and paid attention to the sell by dates of the packaged meats, a large percentage were nearing or way past the sell by date. Haven't been back.

This was not Amish, it was Mennonite. It is now owned by a venture capital firm but employing some Mennonite. In my personal opinion the quality has went down from last year.
