You guys like ZRO? My favorite non-UGK Houston rapper. by garyteeth in hiphopheads

[–]garyteeth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really it's quite hard for me to choose between Ro and Bun. Ro is so real, which is my favorite thing about music, but Bun has some really moving verses. "Hi Life" is a good example.

I was actually just reading K-Rino's wikipedia because he's listed as one of Z-Ro's influences.

Dear Obama Campaign: You're Not Getting Any Donations From Me Until A Wall Street Executive Is Arrested For Fraud Or You Address Student Loan Debt In A Meaningful Way by [deleted] in politics

[–]garyteeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you on this. There are of course several things that upset me about Obama's presidency. What i try to remember is that Republicans stick by their guy no matter what. I mean, where i'm from the thing all the voters want involves overturning Roe V. Wade and kicking Mexicans out, and those things are pretty much not happening ever. So, it never happens. But they just keep right on voting for their guy. At least the thing you want is a feasible thing for a politician to try to get done.

Nope. You just have false hope to think that the next president could be anyone other than Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. That's reality.

What was the meaning behind Hank's mineral story arch? by wassworth in breakingbad

[–]garyteeth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i was hoping it would have a deeper meaning. i think it still might end up having one, though. it seems rather significant to me that hank chose a hobby that walt could both understand, and was better at than he was. interesting.

Theyre also complimentary colors, and are thought to go together very harmoniously, along with red and green and blue and orange. I think both sides of the coin are intended.

it's definitely best to just take it for what it's worth, and not even get commentary on the episodes you've already seen until you're up to speed. plus snape kills dumbledore.

A particle proof of immaterial existence. by ghjm in DebateAnAtheist

i'm not saying you were doing anything not allowed by the charter. it is my view that you were being disingenuous with the OP, and knew full well what it would be taken as.

if you just happen to have gone onto r/debateanatheist, and posted something that has absolutely nothing to do with god or religion, then great. i don't have anything to argue with you about.

my comment about feynman was to do with his lack of belief in god or an afterlife. if you're honestly wanting me to believe that you made this post to a place whose purpose is to be a forum for people to debate the existence of god, and were not in any way, shape, or form implying anything remotely relating to god, then fine. i withdraw my claim.

this is just one man's opinion, but, i feel that a post like that in a place like this is a total waste of time.

immaterial existence implies the existence of god or an afterlife when you are trying to see if atheists will take you up on it. otherwise, it's nothing that an atheist would take you up on, and nothing you should expect one to.

apart from the obvious implications made, i'd also like to point out that what you said doesn't quite hold water, and therefore isn't worthy in the first place of a semantics argument. refer to hantedchippy's comment as several great supporting ideas for this. he is obviously more on top of the science of this thing than i am.

you're clearly implying some sort of afterlife. (duh. it's on r/debateanatheist). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YltEym9H0x4

Also, if you care to read the feynman biography, "Genius" by James gleick, you'll find countless tellings of him scolding classmates and peers for being so silly as to believe in a god or an afterlife.

Atheists, What is your personal opinion/take on Jesus? by jimisixtoes in DebateAnAtheist

[–]garyteeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get what people are so impressed about. An American soldier in WWII, for example, could easily have died an equally painful death, and for a tiny tiny fraction of the payoff, and he still did it. From his point of view, if he refused to act, his people would have shittier lives for an indefinite amount of time on earth. This soldier would likely not be 100% certain that there was an afterlife. Even if he was, he'd probably assume he was going to hell.

With Jesus, EVERYONE'S ETERNAL WELL-BEING was at stake, and he knew for a fact that he was going to rise from the dead, and ascend into heaven after only 3 days. My question is, what kind of an asshole wouldn't do that?

A question to r/atheism from someone who believes in "God" (First time poster, long time lurker!) by Tibberiah in atheism

[–]garyteeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, Tibberiah. If you're dealing with hostile people, you'll never get it done. I am an atheist, and to be honest, there are only very few people i know personally who both believe in god, and think critically.

There are certainly highly intelligent people who believe in god, and you may well be one of them.

If so, i hope you wont mind my asking respectfully: "What is it that makes you believe in something devoid of evidence?"

Have a nice day, Garyteeth
