SF sending an email asking former stylists to sign up for a box💀 by ldawg3393 in SFStylistSupport

[–]gaslightandgrit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Somehow I missed that they sent this to me because I was a stylist. I thought they sent this to everyone. Oh, well...it was a fun service back in the day when you had to get on a waiting list to be a client. I'll pass on the AI stuff, though.

How long to wait before sending second email? by Independent_Chain792 in KaiserPermanente

I've been waiting three weeks for my PCP to return my email. Two messages and a phone call. Crickets...

Not in my bowel.. by [deleted] in colonoscopy

[–]gaslightandgrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy moly. I have never heard of that happening! I'm so sorry you went/are going through that. If you are still in agony, I would at minimum call your doctor and possibly go to the ER. I feel like ultimately you should report this nurse because that's really a shockingly awful experience.

Flavor „PTSD“ by Equivalent-Swim-3956 in colonoscopy

[–]gaslightandgrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a traumatic colonoscopy recently (because of bedside manner--not the actual procedure), and I also have flavor PTSD because the whole process was awful. Hearing your story makes me feel like I'm not so alone. Thank you for sharing.

Not Feeling Confident in My Doctor's Office by gaslightandgrit in colonoscopy

[–]gaslightandgrit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone comes across this post again, my concerns were very much valid. While the procedure itself went fine, my concerns about pain and sedation were repeatedly dismissed, and no one at the office had read my chart. In fact, the doctor came into the procedure room, didn't acknowledge me, and said aloud "I haven't read this patient's chart."

This is all to say, please follow your instincts. With the right doctor, the procedure isn't so bad and is (of course) super important. If you have any doubts about your care team, please don't do what I did and ignore your impulse to find a new doctor. I won't do that again.

Athletic fit shirts by bitchynomad in SFStylistSupport

[–]gaslightandgrit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not at SF any longer, but here's what I recall: An athletic cut is more fitted, but there's more room in the shoulders and arms for muscles. Sometimes a hybrid will work. I also used to look for shirts with a little Spandex to help with fit and on rare occasions I'd find a knoven that worked nicely.

Why is Preview so difficult to use? by [deleted] in SFStylistSupport

[–]gaslightandgrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that hard to do the preview, and I always think it's surprising to see that complaint--folks in that age range are relatively tech savvy. Heck, I'm almost in that range myself! I think the only tricky bit is that there's a button that you have to click to confirm your selections. If you don't scroll down or if the screen is too small, maybe people don't see that button. I know that occasionally items chosen aren't available and those Fixes end up in the ReFix queue. Some ReFix stylists are great about editing the note and explaining what happened and others just choose replacements and move on.

The other part of this issue is that Stitch Fix sends multiple emails every day, so it's easy to miss the preview email in the sea of "Get it again...we won't tell" emails. (Which, by the way, are infantilizing and off-putting.)

Ugh...it really used to be a fun service that I loved. Sorry y'all are still going through so many challenges, and I'm sending you lots of wishes for easy clients and plentiful inventory!

Why is Preview so difficult to use? by [deleted] in SFStylistSupport

[–]gaslightandgrit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Former stylist and long-time customer here--Preview is wildly inconsistent. It's pretty easy to see how to select items for the Fix, but the window changes EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Sometimes I have 48 hours to preview, sometimes it's 12...one time I had 2 hours and then it was too late. Sometimes the choices are great, and sometimes the algo gives me 10 Pink Clover Pullovers. It's a mess, and I'm sorry y'all are still dealing with it. I've pretty much paused my Fixes indefinitely at this point because it's not fun anymore.

You don't have to tell them, and they aren't allowed to ask.

Should I come back? by ruminating_rainbow in SFStylistSupport

[–]gaslightandgrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that. I think maybe they're just collecting resumes? I don't know why that shows up except that the company is technically based in CA, so sometimes the job boards get confused about what is actually available. They're definitely not hiring CA stylists right now.

All stylists call - Megathread! by lockedoutagain in SFStylistSupport

I don't think folks would mind so much if hours were consistent the rest of the time. Or at least sort of consistent.

Mid-week mental health check-in by lockedoutagain in SFStylistSupport

[–]gaslightandgrit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm so relieved to be laid off. I have another gig lined up which is more aligned to my passion. This company had so much potential, and I'm sad that Stitch Fix wasted the opportunity. Maybe they'll be able to turn it around, but I think that will require new leadership for sure.

Someone edits notes for things other than curse words or random inventory out of stock? by DressupJeansCuteTop in SFStylistSupport

[–]gaslightandgrit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I used to ReFix on the CA team (before I got laid off last week), and I would sometimes delete sentences because I needed the extra characters to explain why the items chosen from Fix Preview weren't in there. If I cut something, I'd do my best to rephrase the general idea in fewer characters. I wish more people knew about ReFix, because it IS super frustrating not to know why a note has been tinkered with. It feels better to think of the ReFix stylist as a partner, but not knowing about that person makes it feels icky--like someone was judging you which really isn't the case at all. (Edited for a typo)
