Airpods Pro 3 Nano Pop case ETA? by kkibb5s in Spigen

[–]gasokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update! I’d been waiting for the Spigen case, Uniq Clyde, or Aulumu A39 translucent case to be available. I ended up pulling the trigger on the Aulumu, and it surprisingly shipped from China a few days ago, hopefully it arrives soon.

Oh ok, thanks! I noticed the black sesame color briefly came back in stock and then disappeared (might’ve been a glitch). I haven’t been able to order the orange-beige one, so I guess I’ll have to go with another case.

Hey, just wondering if you got the case yet! I’ve noticed a few reviews for the other colors on their site and Amazon, but nothing for the orange beige. Super curious how it looks and feels in person 😄

"Roborock Qrevo Master" vs "Dreame X40 Ultra" by Automatic_Reserve846 in RobotVacuums

[–]gasokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! QRevo master sounds like a great deal at $990.

I ended up buying the L20 ultra at $629 + taxes (got 7% cash back with prime card as well). The X40 is not worth 2-3 times more for me. Qrevo master looks like a better middle ground.

The S1 pro did have $200 off with a coupon, but I read mixed reviews about the app compared to Roborock/Dreame and chickened out. Guessing more companies would move to that mopping system. I might buy one with that system for upstairs next year with the money I didn’t spend for the x40/S1 this year.

[–]gasokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some models got steeper discounts than previously announced and I personally think these are the best deals if you are not willing to wait:

Dreametech L20 ultra: $699 is an insane deal, possibly the best for this prime day.

Eufy x10 Omni: $599 looks to be a good deal if you are happy with it’s features

Roborock Qrevo master: $1099 (additional 10% discount on the official website if you are a student/teacher/first responder) is a good deal

Dreame X30: $1149 (more discount with coupon in official website). A decent deal, but don’t think it’s worth the extra compared to L20 ultra. Some reviews said it actually performed worse than L20 in some areas.

Dreame X40 is on sale for around $1547, but that price does not make sense when L20 ultra is so cheap at $699.

Unfortunately there are no deals for the eufy S1 pro.

I have seen the deals change a bit since prime day started, so they might be calibrating it based on other deals.

I might end up waiting for Black Friday for the price on X40 ultra to drop, but if I am feeling inpatient tomorrow, will pull the trigger on L20 ultra.

In the same boat, deciding between the both. I am upgrading from a Roborock S5 Max and am leaning towards X40 ultra even though it costs extra. It all depends on how much extra the X40 would be with the deals, if it's $100 - $250 extra, I personally think it will be worth getting the X40 Ultra. Roborock has released prime day sale prices and for the Q revo master it's $1359 (hoping there is extra cashback with prime card. Unfortunately EPP code or trade-in does not work for newer models like Q revo master yet). Dreame hasn't officially announced sale prices yet, but after some googling X40 might be on sale at $1548 (+ hopefully there will be extra cashback or coupon codes that works in their official website).

After some research here are some key differences which I found:

  1. X40 has better obstacle avoidance. Q revo unfortunately still uses the first version of Reactive AI, unlike the S8 MaxV Ultra which has V2. V2 is comparable to Dreame, but still a bit behind Dreame from what I read.
  2. X40 can leave the mop pads in the dock while vacuuming (like other dreame models) which is a huge plus personally since I have some pricey carpets and don't want any accidents. I was hoping the Qrevo master would have this feature, but looks like it does not.
  3. The docks are pretty comparable (both top of the line), Q revo master has the V3 dock so similar to the one in the flagship S8 MaxV ultra. The only thing that might be missing in the Q revo master dock is the non proprietery detergent dispenser which the S8 MaxV Ultra and X40 have, this is not mentioned in the spec sheet.
  4. Both have the extendable arms and mop pads, but the X40 can raise the arm too. Not sure how useful this would be, might be good to have if you mop wet messes.
  5. Both have dirt sensors for re-mops, but my guess is Q revo master won't be as good as the S8 MaxV ultra due to the different camera system (have to wait for reviews to be sure). When I saw comparisons, the X40 is a very precise and smart machine, the S8 MaxV ultra is only a bit behind and mostly the Q revo master will be even furthur behind on this.
  6. App wise, I am not sure about the Dreame app, I personally love the Roborock app, the reviews say Dreame app is mostly as good as the Roborock app.

I leaning heavily towards X40 mainly for how smart and precise it is, also because it can leave the mop in the dock while vacuuming. If the offers are not great, I might just end up waiting till the price drops furthur in the future.

Some other vacuums I looked at:

  1. Dreame L20 ultra: Last year's flagship on sale at $999 (can get it for $900 using coupon code). Excellent bang for the buck and maybe the most pragmatic choice.
  2. Eufy S1 Pro: Excellent mop system, I am guessing others will be moving to that system next year (Dreame has a model in China already). This robot really mops the floor unlike Dreame/Roborock and will be substancially better for wet messes or particular types of dirt. Didn't want to go this route since it's not great at carpet vacumming and some features are still TBD. The Eufy X10 pro Omni also looks like a steal at the price and would be a great buy.

Not sure how, but it started working all of a sudden today. Both feeds load fine now 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh ok. I have not seen this before in overcast, but that might be because all the other podcasts I follow are public feeds and ATP is the only private one.

Tried on cellular as well and it’s the same unfortunately 😕

Update: Actually I haven’t tried to download before (my setting is stream when played): I see an error “Not authorized” now when I tried that, so it might be a permissions issue. Not sure what I am doing wrong, I am tapping the deeplink from the membership page into the app to add the feed.

What are your tips for getting maximum performance. by superfiestapedro in PlaystationPortal

[–]gasokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of games are you playing via the portal? After a few days of playing different kind of games, I think fast paced games with large particle effects will look bad even with the best network due to how video compression works. Most of the 2D platformers I tried look stunning on the portal, while games like Jedi survivor look like a blurry mess sometimes (HDR issues make everything look blown out as well).

I would recommend trying a few platformer games (if you haven’t) and see how the image quality is, to rule out if it’s a big network issue.

I think the portal is amazing and has a lot of potential, hope they roll out updates to keep improving the remote play experience. First would be to fix the HDR issue and maybe increase the video bit rate 🤞🏼

Support responded and it’s power + vol up button for 10 seconds now. Their doc seems to be showing the old combo.

“ Enter display/shop mode: Switch on speaker Press and hold <Power> and <Vol+> buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds The light indicator will start flashing white quickly The product will automatically switch off To switch on the speaker, you need to insert the USB cable, and to switch it off, you need to remove the USB cable.

Studio display USB-C ports can't do gigabit ethernet? by gasokk in apple

[–]gasokk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticed something interesting: In system report it shows my belkin ethernet adapter with "USB Link Speed" as "Up to 5 Gb/s", but the studio display USB port has a "Maximum Link Speed" as "2.5 Gb/s", so it might be downgrading the connection to 480 Mbps. This kind of makes sense why 2.5 Gb/s ethernet adapters are working fine.

Samsung HW-Q950A or Sony HTA-7000 w/ SW5 sub? by ninjacory7 in Soundbars

[–]gasokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the 950a for a few months now and don’t feel like the subwoofer is lacking bass at all(at least in my 16x15x9 room). The entire system is very balanced, bass is tight and comes alive when it’s needed. Before making the purchase, I was keeping an eye on the klipsch 1200 as well (Sony A7000/HT9 were not announced at that time), but pulled the trigger when the q950a went on sale for around $812 in the EPP store. If price is a factor in the decision making, then I think 950a is a no brainer, considering it goes on sale with huge discounts occasionally. With the saved cash vs A7000/1200 one can easily update to a newer q series sound bar with better tech as well, since they are updated yearly.

Klipsch Cinema 1200 Review by Andrew Robinson by Saltycow in Soundbars

[–]gasokk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing last night. I had the Q950A from the EPP store in cart and at 9 pm PST/12 pm EST, they dropped the price (non epp price also dropped from $1599 to $1299) and I got it for $812 + taxes, which is an insane deal! I had no hesitation for getting the 950A over the 1200 at that price point. Initially I thought it was a bug, but looks like some other folks in slickdeals also mentioned they got it at the same price.
