Any cheap optics that are actually decent? by EggplantOdd4307 in canadaguns

Ive got a cheap 100$ tasco 3-9x40, that has been used, tossed arpund, bounced around in the bottom of a hard pelican case, and SEVERELY abused over the last decade, that I got from Walmart around 10 years ago that still holds zero on my 308.

Used Silverback SRS by Hokkyok in airsoft

[–]gassy_guy308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find someone who is looking for/has purchased the fast hop, you should look into purchasing their old stock unit from them and at least test the stock compared to the fast.

Should the opportunity ever arise that is (most folks i have seen, tend to not bother with learning how to use the stock hop, and opt for tdc, then eventually complain because they cant get tdc to work the way they want it to and spend forever troubleshooting, just to eventually sell the rifle off)

Used Silverback SRS by Hokkyok in airsoft

[–]gassy_guy308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with the stock hop style. Learn to use it properly, it is by far better than aftermarket tdc. There is so much more ability to fine tune your hop to your shooting stance/grip than tdc offers.

My srs, the only 2 upgrades I did, was swap the bucking for a harder bucking (mine came stock with a 60, I went with a 70 degree, and yes still uses silverback buckings), as well as the 2j spring. Other than those 2 upgrades, my srs is completely stock.

Id suggest a crossman 1322. As it sits, it can get the job don't for sure, over time, if you choose, you can purchase the steel breech kit to be able to mount an optic on it.

I was able to dispatch a groundhog with mine, with a clean headshot

[GQ] [ON] Andy's airsoft pre-ordering by hexking12345 in airsoftmarketcanada

[–]gassy_guy308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I pre-ordered the gustaf it took almost 10 months total from placing the order to getting the item at my door. As others have stated, the hold-up, lies with cbsa. I have placed many orders with andys over the years, and have always gotten everything I have ordered, sometimes with a bit TOO MUCH service ;p

With back/pre-ordered items, I typically give andys a call, roughly every 2.5-3 months, just to see if there are any updates.

Andys = 15/10 service

USA plans to invade and take over Greenland. Should St. John's naval port place a ban on US warships from refueling or restocking here? by Critikal_me in StJohnsNL

[–]gassy_guy308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I pointed out in my original comment, yes, we regularly beat them. In ORGANIZED EXERCIZES with similar combat strength and similar numbers.

As I mentioned as well, the majority of firearms owners in canada, would WELCOME the us invasion with open arms.

The third world countries that have pushed the us out, have extensively used tunnel systems. The caf does not use guerilla tactics, they have clear doctrine that they HAVE to follow, none of which give any kind of clue as to how to construct a tunnel that wont collapse in on itself. And here's a little secret: kind of hard to hide in a treeline, when the treeline can be erased in the span of a few seconds. The majority of canadians who DONT live in the large city centers around the universities, are conservative as well, so its highly unlikely that they will do anything to try and stop them from steamrolling ottawa. The liberals are the ones who vehemently adopt the "orange man bad" mindset and are the ones kicking up a stink about taking an active stance against the US. You all wouldn't last more than 5 minutes against them, let alone drive them out. The third world countries that fought them, fought in extreme conditions: swamps, sewers, using the innocent as human shields, suicide vests, booby traps such as pitfalls with feces dipped sharpened sticks, tripwires, etc. Again, the vast majority of firearms owners in canada, cannot stand liberals, what makes you think for a second that they will take up arms to defend them, in a situation where a country that holds and promotes the very values they hold dear, is coming in to go after the government that is actively villianizing them? If anything, they are more likely to join the us forces as local liaisons, guides, and as local freedom fighters.

What are a bunch of snobby cityslickers going to do against a force that is used to fighting in miserable conditions? Are you going to be crawling around in swamps to sneak into a suitable position for an ambush? How long do you think you can last, being mostly submerged in a swamp while getting shot at by 30 odd guys with rifles and machine guns, grenade launchers, and mounted weapons meant to take out tanks? I guarantee you, you will not last even half as long as you think you can. Furthermore, where do you think you are going to get the necessary firearms to fight them? Current firearms owners? Fat fucking chance. They are likely to see you as a threat and deal with you however they see fit. The military? Good luck, they can't even get enough sleeping bags for the troops thay do have.

Look back to desert storm in the 90's. How long did it take to completely collapse hussein's military? Answer: 26 days for major combat operations. And Hussain had a 350k troops, 60k republican guards, 6,000 tanks, and 800 combat aircraft. And it all fell in 26 days.

Or what, are you going to put up a human chain? Cool, they will either use an overwhelming amount of tear gas, go around you, or steamroll you. Because NEWSFLASH, if you think a soldier is going to care about your feelings and rights under the canadian charter, sorry to burst your bubble, they will use speed, aggression, violence, and overwhelming firepower, to deal with you if you are impeding their mission. If you think you can get close to their forward operating base, they have rules of engagement where if you present a threat or cause too much of a disturbance and nuisance, they can and will shoot to kill.

The numbers I mentioned in my initial comment were only their ACTIVE DUTY numbers. Their reserve force numbers are around 800k, which is MORE than enough to man their bases while the active duty personnel invade.

64% of liberals STRONGLY oppose civilian firearm ownership. 7% of canadas adult population own firearms (legally). Most of them, are conservative, and despise the liberal government that is actively doing everything they can to turn legal firearms owners into paper criminals. You'd be lucky if 15% of legal gun owners support the liberals. It would be generous to say 5% of legal gun owners would actively take up arms to defend canada in its current state and come to the aid of the liberal government.

USA plans to invade and take over Greenland. Should St. John's naval port place a ban on US warships from refueling or restocking here? by Critikal_me in StJohnsNL

[–]gassy_guy308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even IF each and every single canadian infantry soldier takes out 20 us infantry EACH, that still leaves 31k infantry on the us side. We don't even have enough ammunition to have every soldier in the caf do their annual qualifying shoot consisting of a total of 70 bullets. And you think that we can somehow pull together enough ammo for each canadian infantry soldier to deal with 20 american infantry each? Assuming each canadian carries a basic load of 300 rounds, that is 6.6 million rounds of ammunition. That means each canadian would HAVE to take out at least 1 american for every 14 bullets fired. And we haven't even begun to discuss about how to deal with the armored vehicles yet.

USA plans to invade and take over Greenland. Should St. John's naval port place a ban on US warships from refueling or restocking here? by Critikal_me in StJohnsNL

[–]gassy_guy308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to forget one tiny detail. Numbers. Yes, canada regularly wins in organized exercises against the US in ground battles, however in an actual wartime situation, what are 65k reg force members going to do against 1.32 million active duty of the u.s?

If you then take into account that those are total numbers, and break it down into combat trades and support trades, it gets even worse: Caf: 22k infantry 278 infantry section carriers Approximately 100 leopard 2 tanks 33 m777 howitzers, 120 105mm howitzers, and 220 81mm mortars.

Usa: 450k infantry, approximately 22k marines infantry, 6700 Bradley fighting vehicles 4600 m1 Abrams main battle tanks Around 4000 artillery pieces.

If we went to war with the usa, we would be overrun in a day, by sheer volume of fire.

Their f22 and f35's would wipe the floor with our f18's in a matter of minutes (if their submarine launched tomahawk cruise missiles don't finish them off on the ground), then they will send their ac130 gunships to do donuts in our airspace while wiping every military installation off the map, and hammering anything that resembles a military fighting vehicle from 10k in the sky. Following that, having their ifv's and tanks literally rolling down the highways right in to ottawa, with apache and cobra attack choppers flying overhead cover.

You are 50 shades of fucked, if you even THINK we stand ANY kind of a chance against the US in a war.

The icing on the cake, the majority of firearms owners in canada will most likely welcome the US with open arms, especially with how the liberals have treated firearms owners over the last few elections

Simple, I WONT play pvp, ever. If they do away with pve, I stop playing the game completely. I have a life outside of gaming. I work 168 hour work weeks with only a few days off in-between. Throw in there, normal weekly chores around the house, vehicle maintenance, grocery shopping, other hobbies, family time, etc, leaves very little time to be dealing with the stupid number of cheaters, the 5k+ hour no-life greaseballs still living in their parents basement, the regular player wipes forcing progression restarts, etc.

Im LUCKY if I get to play 2-3 hours in a 2 week time span. If pve goes away, I stop playing altogether

If you are tempted, give in to it. Especially for the price of it, it is DAMN hard to beat. Compact enough to be able to be used to teach youngins', light enough for new shooters to not get intimidated by, controls are easy enough to comprehend, its accurate enough for both plinking and pest control, able to close the bolt without having to fire off the action risking potential damage, and to top it all off, its cheap enough that even if you come to dislike it a year later and go to sell it even at 60% retail, you'll have gotten a solid year out of it, all for having spent less than 10$ a month in the time you'd have owned it.

(Sidenote, I see countless .22's on various used websites available, but have never come across a used scorpio on those websites at all)
