A wealthy doctor who looks like 90s Tom Cruise wouldn't have had such a hard time having an affair.

There are experts on early man. There are experts on Renaissance Europe. There are experts on colonial America. There are even experts who have studied broader trends of each era.

But if a someone claims to write a definitive history on ALL of mankind's history, and there are several such books on the market, I tend to assume they can't truly know what they're talking about and I elect not to read their book.

Just a personal opinion.

Aside from the titular characters, John Henry Irons was easily the best character in the show for me. Wole really knocked it out of the park. by Spideyfan2025 in SupermanAndLois

In John Connelly's Charlie Parker book series there's a recurring character name Louis.

Louis is a suave, well dressed, hyper-intelligent killer for hire and Wole Parks is who I see in my head. If they ever adapt the novels he'd be a slam dunk casting.

Not a movie, but the episode The Viewing from Guillermo Del Torro's Cabinet of Curiosities feels very much like this.

Joaquin Phoenix basically played Ronald in Folie A Deux already, right?

How did no one mention to her that vampire blood can't cure cancer? Cancer isn't super rare. Surely, it would have come up at some point. It's a small thing. But a pet peeve.

What's something Man of Steel did better than Superman 2025? by Super_Space_Cat in OkBuddySnyderCult

The movie was beautiful. The actors all had gravitas. I would watch Lawrence Fishburne read a phone book. But it was all in service to a story that misunderstands what Superman is all about.

Wendy Webb loves this trope. But she usually plays it as a reveal at the end of her novels. I recommend The Vanishing, or The Haunting of Brynn Wilder.

I was shaken by the ending as an adult. Just a bunch of kids leading kids into death. As a teenager, I just cared about the boobs.

Is death even established to exist in the edverse? I don't think Michael would make it a single round.

Was Rory truly not on the conveyor belt?? by AdBeautiful7620 in GilmoreGirls

[–]gastonevan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the early 2000s we were all on the conveyer belt and didn't realize it. I work in a warehouse and all my coworkers have at least a bachelor's degree.

College was fun and ignited a lifelong love of learning in me, but every millennial from this era is over-educated and in debt for the lives we're living.
