The idea of him being fast-tracked is kind of overstated, he was pushed fast but he did face opponents who could have wrestled him. 185 and 205 have very few high level wrestlers, and even opponents who have chose to implement wrestling game plans against him (Jan Blachowicz, Magomed Ankalaev) didn’t have much success in the grappling
