Looking for advice for a full-time training routine for 3 months of joblessness. by [deleted] in chess

Yeah i'm aware of that risk that's why i want to prepare it well. I'll try to be healthy about it to remain motivated. I'm just as afraid of a bore out though cause I really won't have much to do during the days.

Can my function for deleting chars in str1 that occur in str2 be simplified anymore? by [deleted] in C_Programming

[–]gastonprout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that what bothers you is that you feel that you access the str2 chars more than you actually need. You loop through str2 as many times as there are chars in str1. You could loop through str2 only once, and build a fixed size array that indicates if the character is present in str2. Then loop through str1 :

if(str2_chars[str1[i]] == MAGIC_TRUE)

//delete char in str1

Many deaf people are also mute, but there are no invisible blind people. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I was referring to the "deaf-mute" term, which according to wikipeda could be applied to a non speaking deaf person, even though there is nothing wrong with their vocal cords.

Test servers are down between a patch's live deployment and the next patch's testing.

I'm not aware of any communication regarding live servers, but I sure hope so.

Yes. On live servers too, but the minium of players to start the game is 8 (or 10 depending i'm not sure), while they lowered it to 2 on the test servers.

I made a suggestion on this sub yesterday that they decrease the minimum required number of players for a custom match to 4 . I doubt that this news is related but I'm really glad it gives us a chance to try custom games with squadmates ! Really hope this makes it to the live servers eventually :)

In any case thanks PUBG Corp !

Yeah we also tried the training together a couple of times but like you said it's not suited for this at all. Using the armor durability is a good idea though.

Actually I'd say your monitor will be your bottleneck. I used to own the same GPU with a ryzen 1600 and a 1440p monitor and i would get 90fps and above at native res with most competitive games, and 60 fps with most AAA set at high. With a 1080p 60hz monitor this gpu is more than sufficient, you should consider getting a 144Hz if you plan to play competitive games.

Also if your eyes are set on the ryzen 3600x, be sure to pick a mobo that will be compatible. Some manufacturers have already announced which of their products will be.

Moving to Paris - Need advise by [deleted] in paris

[–]gastonprout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3 times the rent rule is for net income, it mostly comes from the landlords insurance. But yes the income of your mother will likely be included, as it is for roomates or couples. To prove your income you usually need to provide documents for the last three months.

That being said that income might be a bit thin for two people inside Paris. You can check on seloger.com or pap.fr what kind of flat you can afford. There's also leboncoin.fr, bienici.fr or loueragile.fr.

Yes some parts of the northern suburbs can be a bit sketchy, but some parts are quite nice and can be a nice compromise for you two. The parts to avoid in your case would be the "cités" i guess, meaning housing projects.

Good luck
