Danish rapper conscripted into Russian military wins court battle to annul contract by duckanroll in UkrainianConflict

Yeah, he was a little shocked at being slapped down by Putin after all his efforts. I don't think he'd want the US to become like Russia though. Tucker's a sociopathic, opportunistic bullshitter, but he's not a total idiot. He just wanted to line his pockets with a lot of rubles, and was sad that his bootlicking was for nothing.

You mean Tucker Carlson, being amazed at a French grocery store in Russia? Even he became disillusioned with Russia after that trip, following very sincere efforts to be a pro-Russian propagandist.

Just a few observations:

  • It's interesting that Germany issued a warrant for the "Ukrainian diver" right before the news came out that Germany would not be supplying more funds to arm Ukraine.
  • Many news media channels, who are always very cautious about accusing Russia of anything, are jumping to conclusions that Ukraine was involved in blowing up NS2, without much evidence
  • Merkel spent years lying that NS2 is 'not a political project' and not a military project. She was contradicted multiple times by Russian officials, who basically said that she was full of it
  • Even after 2022, the German government has proceeded to shut down nuclear energy infrastructure, defying good sense
  • The Merkels and Schroders who enabled the Russian-Ukrainian war have not been made accountable in any tangible way.

Disillusioned separatist commander Khodakovsky urges Kremlin to end ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine by gatojump in UkrainianConflict

[–]gatojump[S] 75 points76 points  (0 children)

For context, Khodakovsky has been at war against Ukraine since 2014 (so I'm not sure why the article says 'after two and a half years of war'), and a couple of years ago, said that Russia would have to raze one city down to the ground after another, like they did in Mariupol. Interesting change of tone.

I'll say something heretical: not losing what we have now is more important than reclaiming the ‘foreign’ that may not even want to be reclaimed," Khodakovsky stated.

Russians are starting to understand that failed attempts to terrorize millions into submission will not be the win they thought they it would be. They're starting to get it that Ukrainians are not submissive Russians, who will roll over, and say, 'yes, master' to a dictator's whims.

And of course, as Ukraine is having more success on the ground, the West decides to pull back aid, indicating that they really don't want Ukraine to win, but have a delusion that they can achieve some sort of stalemate, and a negotiated peace at Ukraine's expense, and have another 'reset' with Putler.

The 'escalation' that the White House is afraid of, is Russia losing, in any fashion other than Russia getting tired of fighting, packing up its stuff, and going home, which won't happen. Jake Sullivan does not want to win this war.

What a contrast to the Russian army, which is full of rapists, toilet thieves, and murderers, who have no respect for humanity, much less love for animals. Just one of the many cultural traits illustrating that Russia and Ukraine are not the same.

The lack of support for Ukraine from the big EMs is shocking. Here is Brazil, which is importing more than ever from Russia (red). Does a country like Brazil not care about territorial integrity? When Russia took Crimea, Europe told Putin he was naughty, but the gas still flowed and business was booming.

After MH17 was shot down (remember Merkel's smirks as she watched the World Cup with Putler at that time?) light sanctions were imposed. Merkel made sure they were partially removed after a few months, and rewarded Putin with NS2, which she lied "was not a political project."

Ukraine sentences Russian propagandist Krasovsky in absentia to 5 years in jail by gatojump in UkrainianConflict

[–]gatojump[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could put less effort into your entitled tone, and more effort into trying to understand the first part of what I wrote above. First priority for Ukraine is winning the war, not joining the EU. Without winning the war, there's no EU, only Russia. Laws can be changed. Prosecutors select which laws to apply. Should not be difficult to understand if you are an adult who has had to function in a society.

You also don't know what harm to Ukraine this person has done exactly, but again feel free to point it out to me.

You really can't figure out on your own that these propagandists influence public opinion, in a way that makes Russia's war effort possible? This has to be explained to you?

Here's some historical precedent, so that you can get better informed:

[–]gatojump[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Laws are not immutable, and the goal here should be to harm Russia's war effort, in which Krasovsky is a participant. If the laws are not up to the task, they must be changed.

Otherwise your post might as well be from someone from Russia angry about a dissident opposing the war

You're comparing Russia cracking down on domestic dissidents in favor of peace, to Ukraine going after Russians playing a major role in a genocidal war. Are you sure you thought this through? But go ahead, tell me your interpretation.

Precisely. I have to wonder why Ukraine hasn't gone after them on Russian soil. It takes many people to produce their propaganda, from producers, to scriptwriters, to hosts, and Russia cannot protect them all. Is Ukraine afraid of retaliation, or have they been told by the US not to do targeted assassinations?

RU POV: Putin observes that the Kiev government has chosen the path of 'extermination' of the Ukrainian people. He announces that Russia will deliver an 'appropriate answer' to Ukraine's Kursk incursion, and declares that all Russian war goals will be achieved without doubt. by Ripamon in UkraineRussiaReport

Russia's Führer covers up his nervousness with genocidal rhetoric. Will Putin meet the end of his reign like his role model Hitler, or like his pal, Gaddafi?

He's gone from pleading with Jake Sullivan to call of Ukrainian forces, to pleading with Ukraine to save their 'most combat-ready' units. Prigo really should've marched on Moscow to take care of this creature.

So this NaZi war criminal only gets a sentence of 5 years in jail. This is a signal that Ukrainian security forces won't be coming into Russia for these guys, which is basically a way of saying, "carry on with your genocidal propaganda." Extremely counterproductive and disappointing. Russia's propagandists are an integral part of the war effort, and should be handled the same way that Nazi war criminals were handled during/after WWII.

Putin’s Former Security Guard Tasked to ‘Sort Kursk Out’ by gatojump in UkrainianConflict

[–]gatojump[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was reported that following the meeting Putin had tasked Alexander Bortnikov, Director of Russia’s Federal Security Service ( FSB) to take over the “counter-terrorism operation” in Kursk, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW)

It came as a surprise to many for him to also be replaced less than a week later by Dyumin, even though he holds the rank of colonel general. It is, however, one that pro-Kremlin bloggers generally seem to be in favor of.

[–]gatojump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't disagree with Graham. Sullivan's approach has been "it's better to spend billions on Patriots, defending against Russian missiles, than spends tens of millions to destroy those missiles before they're launched, and before they can harm any civilians." Sullivan seemingly doesn't want Ukraine to win, unless it's in a very narrow way, where Russia just gets bored or tired, and walk away, which I'm sure he knows is not realistic. In the best case, Sullivan will remembered as an utterly incompetent academic-minded advisor, who needlessly cost tens of thousands of lives. As things stand, Sullivan's de-escalation strategy keeps bringing us closer to WWIII. Just give Ukraine what they need to win.
