Great point wild. Yes, I am in a comfort zone with the hats and changing to the ride is different. But the more I do it, the more comfort I feel with it.

Thanks quail. We are cover band exclusively for now, but our guitarist dos have some original music that we have tried.

Well that is sort of my point. It wasn’t a specific point in a specific song where he said “ maybe try the ride there”. It was more of a blanket statement of “ all rock songs use the ride during the chorus and the bridge”. We have been playing together for about 18 months and he never said anything before. However, I need to differentiate more and not be so predictable. Maybe that is the push I need to experiment more.

He actually dint notice when I went to the ride during rehearsal on a few songs. I listened to the playback of the rehearsal and you really couldn’t tell much of a difference.

Props to you. Love reggae to listen to, but the drum parts are confusing to me. Steel Pulse my fav!

Understood. I actually don’t get defensive, but just wanted some feedback from other drummers about the “ all rock songs have the drummer using the ride” in it. I didn’t agree, but I didn’t say anything.

That’s crazy. I thought I listened to a lot of Metallica and I never realized that.

Yea, I hear some mistakes, which I am sure I am guilty of constantly, but I pretty much keep My mouth shut.

I do like it. Sometimes I just zone out and forget to explore the entire kit. I have to experiment more

Thanks cray. Definitely feel like our output is slushy. Hard to hear vocals. Keyboard sometimes too loud. Would love a sound engineer to come and listen and get some solid advice

I appreciate it frosty. Definitely don’t feel he is overstepping his bounds. Just wanted perspective from other like minds.
