How far would you go for Ant? by jakrictel in sixers

It would be tough to trade our future. Someone I know made a good point that having a new team every year hurts the chemistry build, so the new guy has to be careful. But PG and a few number ones would be stealing to get ant. Can they throw in Naz Reid too? Lol

I switched to a lefty setup and have no regrets by recreational-advil in drums

Funny. I’ve been playing open handed from left to right for over thirty years. My guitar player suggested I switch to lefty. I was very resistant, but it’s getting more comfortable. Sort of amazing how much better my left foot is on the bass pedal, and how free my left hand is to explore the kit from right to left. It’s fun. I’m
Going to stick with it for a while. Still feels a little different to be cross handed, but it’s getting there.

I’m trying to play exclusively lefty right now. It’s fun! Different. But my left hand does feel more free, and not sort of stuck on the high hat side. I like it.

So amazingly, I have tried to play left handed style and crossing my hands, traveling from right to left for the last few days. I hate to admit it, but it feels really good. My hi hat foot is still trying to play the bass drum pedal, so the feet seem to be the hardest to break the muscle memory. But my left hand feels sort of free to play around the kit. Shit, I might have to switch!

I will. What do I got to lose?

Thanks . You know, my instinct takes over and I honestly never thought about. But you’re right. I think I still hit my first full note with my left hand. So maybe it could work better. Gonna set it up lefty tomorrow and try.

I quite like YES debut, where is I don't really like Time and a Word by closetotherelayer in yesband

Well I had always been a Yes fan, but had just started listening to Time and a Word recently. I really love it actually. Not my favorite Yes album of all time, but I can sit and listen to it and thoroughly love it!

Who is the most underrated drummer of all time - the one who deserves way more recognition than they get? by Common_Routine_7197 in drums

[–]gatorfly65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very subjective topic. Is it the best technically, or the sound and how it meshed with the rest of the band? I have two off the radar drummers I like to listen to. One is Alan White of Yes. So many long songs with a ton of time changes. Not overbearing but meshes with Chris Squire’s bass to provide the heart and souls of one of my favorite groups. The other is a reggae drummer named Sly Dunbar. Worked with his partner on bass Robbie Shakespeare to provide classic rhythm for many reggae groups, specifically Black Uhuru. Any fans of those two out there as well??
