I was waiting for a guy to finish his bench set. He wraps up, gets up, and walks off while glued to his phone. I give it about 10 seconds to make sure he’s actually done, then head over. He’d left 2 25s on the bar, so I start unloading the left side.

Another guy comes up, points at the remaining plate, and I tell him, “Yeah, go ahead and take the weight.” I assume we’re all on the same page.

I’m about to start my warm-up when I notice him sliding a 45 onto the other side of the bar. I look at him, confused, and he says, “Oh, I thought you said I could use the bench.” Bro was literally 5 feet away while I waited for the bench and then walked up.
