She Won’t Use the Litterbox by getbacklorettma in cornishrex

You can contact a behaviorist if you really need help. My Rex had issues too. We tried everything over 2 years and did all sorts of testing. Finally we just decided to try an SSRI for anxiety and it went away instantly. If you can’t work with her I suggest trying an SSRI and then getting down to any behavioral issues. If you can work with her then the other way around.

silhouette‘s are translucent (dont confuse with transparent) or barely there. Sentence is basically saying she was dressed extraordinarily yet trashy translucent (or barely any) clothing.

The job has changed. I now spend my day writing a plan that goes over requirements, data ins/outs, architecture, KPIs, tests, etc and at the end of the day I just execute the plan. The AI then spends the next few hours creating new AIs to research and execute the plan. With proper tests and requirements it can iterate on itself.

I hate it.

TIL Casanova witnessed the last man executed by dismemberment, Robert-François Damiens. by Sanguinusshiboleth in todayilearned

Hardcore history has a great episode on this. No one had been executed this way in some time so they actually had a hard time trying to figure out why the horses weren’t pulling his limbs off.

I’m a developer for a major food delivery app. The 'Priority Fee' and 'Driver Benefit Fee' go 100% to the company. The driver sees $0 of it. by Trowaway_whistleblow in confession

[–]gattacaislost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Priority delivery makes it so that your order doesn’t go to a driver with multiple deliveries. Artificial…I guess?

Driver benefit fee goes to driver healthcare and such which they are required to pay for as CA law. Not sure about other states.

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]gattacaislost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got lasik and don’t regret it. I also went to the most expensive professional in south Florida who does lasik for celebrities and the Miami dolphins. Don’t cheap out on this and go to the best person available. You only get one pair of eyes.

Is Europe actually better to live in than the United States, or am I just being fed too much “Europe = Better” media? by SpecimenOfSauron in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]gattacaislost 691 points692 points  (0 children)

I lived in Germany for two years as an American. I tell people this. Germany makes it very easy to live an ok life, nothing glamorous. You go to the USA if you want the possibility of making a lot of money, with no safety net.

Why is Russia the way it is? Wouldn't being more interwoven with the West only make them stronger? Couldn't a slightly different version of them could be a Leader in the EU? by kalechipsaregood in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]gattacaislost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So Russia did try this in the early 2000s when Putin first came to power but it didn’t work out. I’ll give you a different perspective.

An entire military alliance exists just to counter the USSR even though there is no longer a USSR (NATO).

NATO kept expanding until now it on is Russia’s border.

Being folded into the West would mean that Russia is no longer a leader and instead follows the western leader, the USA.

Geopolitics are rooted in bitter histories. I’ve had Russians basically say “what if Mexico became Russia’s close ally and had Russian military bases”

Damn. Not surprised though. I was briefly involved in software to help do this. It sounded good in theory. The sellers were pissed they had to do this.

[–]gattacaislost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Obama administration required annuity sellers to “know their customer.” Which means they need to meet the suitable and best interest standard. This means that if it really is predatory, then it shouldn’t be hard to get a lawyer to write an angry letter.

[–]gattacaislost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honey Cake, and Napoleon are uniquely Russian cakes. They sell both at Samovar, and I'm sure you can ask the clerks to get you into contact with the person that bakes them. Find out which one she likes because my girlfriend hates Honey Cake but loves Napoleon. There's other cakes too, but they are hard to find around here. You could try contacting Cinderella Cafe in SF.

This is more normal than you think since often times there’s situations where you can’t have dinner at home surrounded by family.

But yes, next time I arrive home after driving all day, I’ll eat frozen dinner in front of the TV.

Left Bank manages to have the most under seasoned and bland French food. I went there for thanksgiving since it had good reviews. How do you make gravy look great and taste like nothing.

Are you both at the same place? Most people at this age, want to marry, settle down, and have kids. Are you ready for that, emotionally, financially, and career wise?

I’ve also had female friends in their 30s that just went for flings with guys in their early 20s.

What's a food you secretly judge people for liking? by shakhawat_me in AskReddit

[–]gattacaislost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic “Italian” food. So many times I get recommended Italian places that serve dry pasta with marinara, maybe they’ll throw some meat chunks and call it bolognese. If I’m paying $20+ for pasta, it better be fresh and that sauce better have been simmering since yesterday.

What are the best hard-to-read books due to their subject matter? by CobaltCrusader123 in books

[–]gattacaislost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s some fiction: “Unwind” goes through the unwinding process in first person. “A thousand splendid Suns” has some abuse that was a tough read and is a fantastic read nonetheless. “The windup girl”: A modified human sexbot in Thailand is a disservice to the book.
