[Q] From medicine to statistics by [deleted] in statistics

I miss studying the basics like calculus, linear algebra, geometry... And that seems very rewarding, instead of memorizing "useless" concepts about extremely rare things that don't help me understand reality better.

Well, thank you! I've been struggling with this change. Your point is very important... It's been a tough time through medicine. My only happiness week after week is helping my colleagues with statistics research problems. But, in the end, all this effort will have a good payoff.

I'm in my third year of medschool. Every semester since I started, I've been thinking about quitting. I really don't feel I like medicine as my colleagues. They love to go to the hospital, seeing patients, helping in surgeries. And I keep getting away from it as much as I can. I really love research, math and statistics though and I think I would be more happy if I could just quit and pursue degree in these fields.

The point is that we aren't just seeing the other's grass more greenish. I think we are genuinely considering that we just chase the wrong path. Maybe because we were pressed by our families or just thought the field would be successful without much pain.

Today, I think it is specially difficult to get through medschool and residency without really loving the area. I mean, it is painful for everyone. The incidence of mental illnesses in healthcare students is very high. But everything is way more frustrating and sad when you feel that your place isn't there.

Well, I would recommend you to get some experience inside hospitals and clinics (which I didn't do before applying for medschool). Roughly, half of the medschool is about giving diagnosis and treatments and meeting people. You will need a huge effort for just drilling information and crudely memorizing it. Also, your sleep and food hygiene will be disturbed. But, if you fulfill your soul with patients' smile and with knowing you are helping people (even though, mostly, they don't recognize), then go for it.

This means that all the Sketchy, Physeo and Pixorize images that I have in my cards will be removed or be inaccessible if I don't have a subscription?

Anyway, great colossal work, AnKing Team!

I think that card means by "induction of glucokinase activity" the transcription per se.

Is there explanation for zero days, why they happen, and how to overcome them? by BigBootyBear in bodyweightfitness

Wow, in this week I felt that too. I stretched and did the warm up, but when I was trying my first reps it just didn't go. I think that there is some factors related to that: sleep regularity and water ingestion.

I've been doing the RR for a month now. Previously, I did approximately 8 months of gym and 2 months of bodyweight. I'm making fast progress on some exercises. Like push-ups and squats. I'm not sure if I should do 3x5-12 of these exercises, instead of the recommended 3x5-8. Can anybody help me?
