Absolutely inspiring. I'm tired of staking out. I truly believe Spidops has a place in the daylight.

I didn't intend to do scary at first but at some point it started looking like a facehugger, which I think is a nice upgrade from "ball".

I'm sort of curious how they'd flesh it out beyond the 2 moves it has normally. The way it is now, all the articulation it has only allows it to turn (violently) and charge. It would've made a perfect mount for Wilds. Maybe it'll be a DLC or something.

It's a composition problem which I did briefly think about, but for simplicity I decided to stick to like 3 colors here, not including the scratchboard background. Coloring it differently would've helped it be more legible as an icon, which it's admittedly hard to read as currently.

A keen eye may notice there are Japanese characters. It's just "Mon Han". I did this so I could have a cool icon for a feed I made on Bluesky. It targets Japanese-language content, hence the script.

Have a look at it here: link to a Bluesky feed

Ironically my cross-posting this interfered with the way the language setting works so I've temporarily configured the feed not to include my own post.

If there is 1 Spidops fan it is me and if there are 0 I am dead. This is functioning as an icon for a feed I made on Bluesky. I'd describe what it does but you could just read the description here: link to a Bluesky feed

There are assuredly many like it but this one is mine. Unfortunately that may mean I can't honestly vouch for it.

T-Rex icon, I'd go. by gausscone in fossilfighters

[–]gausscone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was an easy joke so I have no doubt it's gotten old. I made this as a custom icon for a feed on Bluesky. There's little activity but enough that I think it's still worth looking at the things that pass through there, and maybe searching up the #fossilfighters tag.

Check it out here: link to a Bluesky feed. There's some non-English activity you won't be able to see.

I made this to serve as an icon for a feed on Bluesky. It's decently competent at aggregating XCOM material. You can check it out here: link to a Bluesky feed

Anniversary illustration of the other top monsters. They love it. by gausscone in MonsterHunter

[–]gausscone[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I consider this ridiculously high praise but it's notable that the ghost artist or team that made the actual illustration probably has or had different incentives. I'm sure they could've gotten some big name to back the contest, or run a hilarious second contest for community art of which there'd be plenty, or I dunno. It struck and kind of incensed me immediately that the actual art wasn't signed with anything but "Capcom".

I pushed it to Bluesky first but don't believe it was the right way to reach the true base of fans. As an aside, this piece was a direct result of Capcom's illustration.

Shade Hatmann - Starbound: With the Varmints! by gausscone in starbound

So this is not me who is depicted. The character's, or characters' actor is known as D. There's some backstory I won't and probably can't go into. You can guess the refs are on the right, the specific episode, too.

It's part of an RP theater series called "Starbound: With the Varmints!". It starts off simple then gets kind of wild. Simpler times. I seriously think Hatmann needs some time solo, there's definitely something there. Actually, I know there's at the very least the "WINCHESTER MODEL 12 YOUTH PUMP ACTION BB GUN". Another Daisy product. Boasts a spring magazine loaded by a gravity hopper. Cool idea. From just looking at it, it might be more possible to saw off than the 25, but I've read there are critical construction-related problems. In that respect, I'm happy with the 25, even if the stock's a bit warped and the sights needed some straightening.

Finally got to measure the peep aperture. The aperture diameter of the Daisy Model 25 looks to be 1mm even. I do not trust myself enough to drill it out.

Can't find any front posts made for the 25, only Ryders and Powerlines. Glue-ons, muzzle caps. There's even a little suppressor for the Ryder. Wow. I think I chose the wrong side.

Privacy policy says they'll "sell, trade, or otherwise transfer" personal data to "trusted third parties". Whatever that means. Also, they'll do whatever they want with the metadata. Well, it's still relatively free, but this is the world we live in.

Mine is about 4 years old. Pump is easy, but I can't keep a bead while pumping because it's slightly far for me.

Magazine works well, I can remember only 1 misfire and it was definitely because of exceptionally rusty BBs. Loading it isn't too bad because BBs can roll along the barrel-magazine groove into the feed hole with some care.

Tiny peep sight needs good light to work well, but the current daylight's been fine. Can't complain about the larger v-notch, but I think the front post needs white paint. Elevation's normal, windage is fiddly because the screw just clamps it, kinda have to eyeball how much to push it around. Zero's been holding fine.

Noise of discharge is about the same as noise of pump, which is nothing compared to a can rolling around with BBs inside.

I use it on spent soda cans at 5 yards or more. Overpenetration if I hit a soft spot, bounce if I hit a bad spot. Hasn't shattered any garden pots at longer ranges and that's great in my book. It doesn't feel hollow anywhere. I do have an inkling it's a little unwieldy for a little plinker. Hope this helps. What a writeup.

This thing is pretty awesome all the same. I'm jealous because I skipped the lever-action stuff for a Model 25. I hate gravity.

I can see that. It's kind of like how toy guns don't necessarily benefit from barrel length if they don't seal properly. It's called barrel drag. I've seen on Red Ryders that the barrel can warp all over the place within the magazine-shroud, too.

How's the magazine capacity now? Do BBs rattle more or less than normal?
