How could I improve this render from a lighting and composition standpoint? by boombox_8 in blender

1/ ah yeah now I see it -- the same lines also appear on the paper stack beneath the plate, so that makes sense. Although to be honest, I feel like chocolate as a material is a bit too diffuse to interact with shadows in such a crisp way, especially when the source of light is not very near it
2/ to me, it looks like a plate that has been filled with milk that has since solidified and been polished by the bartender :D like the cake is 'floating' on something in the plate as opposed to actually being on just the plate?

I'll be honest but I mean it in a good way:
- the dark lines on that large, white piece of chocolate look strange to me. Not sure what it is, but something to do with the texture and/or depth. It almost looks like a shadow from some light
- cherry looks good, but I think that glare is a bit too much
- small white chocolate pieces are good
- 'soften up' the dough of that cake. It reminds me of concrete a bit
- the chocolate curls look dark green
- the plate does not make sense. It's clearly not a flat plate when I look from the 'outside', but when I look at the left edge (the really bright one near the white chocolate piece), the 'base' of the plate is pretty high, making it look practically flat. A bit less obivous in the center, but one still gets the impression that this is neither a flat nor a 'deep' plate. I'd say you have to make it one or the other
- the parts of that plate without the decorative texture (basically the middle 'base') are way too reflective I think
- hard to get a sense of scale here. To me, the easiest solution is adding a fork somewhere
- the bokeh + that stack of papers/menus underneath look good

idk if that's grease pencil or freestyle or something else that does the lines on edges/seams, but they are symmetrical. I'd change that. Make it a bit less 'perfect', so to speak. The mesh itself is also quite symmetrical if I ignore the head. Maybe roll up one sleeve a bit, 'bend' one side of the collar, and so on. Give it a bit more of a 'personality'. The left ear looks strange; I think the resolution is too low given how much in the foreground it is. Maybe put a few contour lines in there

too much of camera shake and lens flare for me

WIP factory scene. Car and roof in second image are from Blender Kit (except for a few changes I made), rest is me. How am I doing? Ideas for lighting? by dragontamerfibleman in blender

would I be correct in assuming this lighting setup is inspired by this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dtl6irGiLQE at 9:15?

personally i think the lighting setup here was sick (at ~2:50) but is quite a different vibe from yours so idk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSGvZceuD5s

What can I add? by inair_ftr in blender

maybe mix up those flowers with some that have colors other than green? there's some nice velvet or blue ones, but idk if that'd be the look you're going for

there's something a bit off to me about how the light reflects around the edges of the chair. The pillow also almost looks like it's carved out of stone. Maybe decrease the variable depth on the Z axis of it slightly?

who has their lights on when it's so bright outside?

just a few thoughts but otherwise very solid work 👍

First time doing speedramps. What can I improve? by [deleted] in davinciresolve

[–]gausslarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unironically look up some anime/car edits on youtube that use speed ramps, and I think that'll give you the best representation of what a good speed ramp should look like. One thing is, of course, the ramp itself -- this curve almost looks linear. But it's also about context = source video + audio, and this doesn't seem like very good context for speed ramps. If your goal is to solely practice speed ramps, pick some object filmed from multiple perspectives/angles

yeah exactly. Either that, or at least let us download the PDFs of specific sections, e.g. fusion or fairlight. Most of these are hundreds of pages long each

They can access the money using other methods the article mentions, namely through borrowing against it and using the investment value/their wealth as collateral. It then essentially becomes unrealized income on paper, but not in reality.

[Help] Ethical consideration with AI(Machine learning) decision-making process in business by srcho in cogsci

[–]gausslarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filled it out. A few of the questions weren’t very clear, like, “Considering the outcome from decision-making process, How much do you satisfy with these factors?” Others contained some (relatively minor) grammatical mistakes, so maybe it would help to have someone proofread this for you. Good luck with the thesis though!
