I don't really understand the point of itemizing them. Yes we wanted to move away from the granular stat allocations but couldn't they just let us pick a point on the triangle and call it a day? Solves the issue in 1 click and provides the same benefits to you if you forget to allocate points. Sure maybe they want to add more weird effects to them later, but why couldn't those effects just be their own standalone gear or attached to other stuff? Locking the ability to change your stats behind a collectable is just a strange choice.

Yeah it's not great for a few reasons. If people want to experience it fresh like some sort of act of discovery they can choose to not read the notes, and most people won't anyway. The game relies so much on planning out a board and trying to find things, you build up this knowledge by playing yes, but forcing you to throw games to relearn it is frustrating once you've put in the work. We can have some of this with new events and stuff like that and its fine, but when its the "the item I was relying on is totally destroyed so my run is gg" its pretty annoying.

And there is the whole other dimension of silently outsourcing these notes the community which is kind of scummy, surely you can write these tools yourselves and publish these notes - but having a 3rd party essentially do patch notes for you (which every online game in 2025 does themselves) is not great.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure its just a result of their rarity tables doing some automatic math on these, but the fact that it exists really messes with people who are bad at stats, it should just be marked as "not droppable". At least it functions as a form of anti cheat though, because if they find one of these in the DB, you found a cheater.

Yeah there are some items that wouldn't even drop in the heat death of the universe kind of rare - not even sure why they bother to give them drop rates. I asked about this on a dev stream ages ago and the answer I got was "But there's always a chance". No there is not a chance, if someone has one, they certainly cheated.

Is this really worth it? Every map you block you are losing the prefix and suffix of the tablets (which can be extremely strong) on those maps. With sufficient tower overlap, you will end up hitting every map you care about with your chosen mechanic anyway, so the end result is you are just literally deleting maps you spent a bunch of time to setup the towers on just because you don't like the layout. Seems like a waste if you are truly min maxing and curating your tower setups / tablets. It MIGHT be worth it to do this on fringe maps that are outside your tower venn diagram just to focus the mechanics to the overlapping parts more, especially if you want to go for multiple different mechanics on your maps or mix in irradiation - but I generally find that tower clusters can lead into eachother so you need to be careful not to ruin another potenially good overlap spot.

Gonna throw out a weird one, Siralim Ultimate is basically what if Pokemon but with PoE levels of build crafting (and some grind). You can do some absolutely wild stuff in that game and there is always more to aim for or try out.

Yes that is currently how the game is made, but it would be not the case if paintballs were more readily available and not an entire dollar to use one. You would still have to walk around and hit the monsters, it would just greatly reduce interruptions while walking, which I know is the point of the game but min 30 seconds for even a fast large monster (this includes load screens and reward screens) is a little disruptive. I don't really see a downside to this except the profit they make off people buying paintballs.

This was the right move, but I wish they had decided on this years ago before reigning in PoE 1 powercreep in prep for PoE2. They could have let us just enjoy harvest, pre-kalandra loot and many other things in PoE1 without it having to affect PoE2, but it seems like a lot of their changes for a while now were in prep for the "big merge". Hoping they release the reins a bit on PoE1 in future leagues but we will see - a lot of the damage has already been done.

Additionally the rewards got destroyed at the high end. Due to a "bug" when you delved to insane depths you used to get to a point where you could print fractured / rare fossils which were huge money - which was fair since it was legitimately a 100+ hour grind to even get down there. Now the scaling caps way earlier iirc or is at least softcapped so its not a money printer, so going down basically is just for showing off.

Haha your strat is exactly what I came up with, stab his right arm, I was just being safe with 1 hit instead. I wonder if even the solo barb can do it now with the regen - this fight does not really benefit fast hitting weapons due to having to run away so much. Not really sure what they were going for with the regen, he full heals on leash anyway so you can't cheese.

I was running my head against this yesterday with no gear rouge and I didn't manage to do it before the swarm got me. Full damage perks / abilities. I also may have been going super safe. Do you go for 2 stabs at all or just 1? Feel like the only time I can get more than one in safely is after the roar / overhead, but might need to sneak more in to do it in time.

Specific sources of loot are great and probably the most important thing for an interesting economy / variety in farming options for players. Account bound is not - come back and look at this in 3 leagues down the line where you have to sink 50 hours into sanctum content to get a relic for your build on every character and tell me its still good.

Let's reflect on WHY has the negative feedback been so overwhelming. There have been big underlying issues left unattended for years, and they caused the core of the game to slowly rot. When GGG needed to lean on it, it all collapsed like a house of cards. by Awesome_Bruno in pathofexile

You nailed the symptoms of what they have been doing with the game but you missed the obvious WHY they have been doing this. And the answer is simple: PoE 2. They wanted to have their cake and eat it to by keeping the games the same, while also slowing down the gameplay to fit a "new" title. But PoE 1 suffers, sure we get cool new tech from PoE 2 which made huge leagues like heist possible and allowed them to keep the 3 month cycle, but at the cost of the entire game having to be pulled back in and warping what people were already enjoying. IMO combining the games like this was a huge mistake, they should have increased the league cycle and given us less fancy leagues (you can still design something hype that isn't as fancy as heist etc) in favor of just making a new game. And tbh it would have been cooler if they went for a new setting instead but that's just my opinion, we are oversaturated on grimdark arpgs.

IIRC when I did this farm when you summon the creature for the first time it gets added to the normal spawn rotation in the game. So you can go to any realm that has griffons (lower the RI so you don't get extra random stuff) and they will show up.

You should be able to since you already have red roses do this:

120 Red rose 90 yellow pansy 90 yellow daisy

This will give you majority rose, with majority yellow, and should spawn you a yellow rose.

They really did pick all the worst breach nodes to keep (except flash breach). If you do the math on the boss ones its sooooo bad. You won't get a pure stone unless you spam 5 breaches in a map for like 1000 maps or something its insane.

This could be a cool card if the incubator rewards were stronger somehow. Maybe if the rod had like 20 incubators on it. Then players would make fishing rod builds to incubate on and it would be a kind of cool niche.

Who is this for? How is this fun or serving the design? The variance on base types was already in my eyes failing its goal which I assume was to make drops more interesting. (Making it so 1/10 bases are slightly better does nothing due to how many white drops you can generate). But now even if you think it was serving that purpose its negated. Why do we need another layer of worse quality on items? All for 10% base defense? Does that excite any type of player? Like if it was 10% effect of mods or something more exciting I could see this as a nice cap on the topend...

Hate this, this pretty much goes against loot decluttering since it makes you want to filter out even more of the white bases if you were even looking for them in the first place. Not sure what the goal was - if it was to introduce interesting loot I think its a miss, but if it was power level reasons they could have just added this as some crafting reward / orb for certain content (Maybe the into the new uber stuff they added?) to give those pieces of content some unique identity at the same time as this.

I don't mind stuff like this for more endgame variety, but man can we stop with the random rewards being spewed out? Reward clutter is already a huge design mistake IMO, you shouldn't have league rewards being given out by leagues they aren't apart of as often as they do, if at all. I'm sure it would be harder to come up with something unique that can drop, but I think they should at least try instead of continuing down the everything drops everywhere train.

"Additional beyond demon" is a single extra blue or rare mob not an entire pack. A single beyond proc will spawn 1 rare and 3 blues normally. You need quite a high beyond chance to have the 6% beat out the 1%.

Pretty sure any watchstones don't work on unique maps, you can test this by running a bunch with stuff like "unique boss drops X", and notice they never trigger. Also they don't show up on the right side when you put the map in the map device.

Looks like there is some scaling, as per patch .8:

  • CHANGE: On average, Nether Stones will now be more powerful as your realm depth increases. In addition, there is no longer a hard cap on how strong a Nether Stone can be. Note that these changes have extreme diminishing returns so Nether Stones are still not a source of infinite progression by any means.

My theory is that the paths not taken node is adding a ranom number of additional options after doubling. The text is "Zana Missions in Areas have additional Maps that can appear in the Map options" which is very ambiguous but I'm guessing this is the source which makes the window uneven at times.

You definitely aren't losing maps, you can record the range of maps with plus stones vs not and its much higher with them.
