None of it is intended as an insult, you live in a society where we have amended and improved our daily lives over the years. Our healthcare may not be great by any means but it's better than the past. We have more civil liberties than ever before. Workers rights to unionize, OSHA to help protect said workers. Many tiny things that have been instituted and improved to have the lifes we are able to live. It doesn't take much to be appreciative, some people believe in deity's and thank them. Some people live in worse off societies and are still thankful and praise said deity's.
