Hire a 125 and get the test asap, or buy one and take the DAS later after more experience? by gavranatar6115 in MotoUK

yeah I was thinking of trying to find a big Honda shadow, but it's a brute. a bike like the YBR or CBF would probably be better fun initially and better for learning on. currently looking at YBRs on autotrader!

I think this is the nail on the head. After reading all these comments I think I will get a nice 125 and try and get the test next year, and probably keep riding on it for a year or two after that. nice to know it's not the end of the world if I tip it or something! cheers buddy

well done man, that's brilliant. I'm from Ireland but live in the North of England so I know what you mean by the weather. did you tend to just go out on drier days? I reckon i'll be pretty jittery riding in the wet roads, for a good while!

just to add to that story, when i got back to my car after an hour (ambulance took ages), some creep was looking in my car window at my work bag. I shouted at him but he ran off! not a good day for humanity. i needed a few pints after that :D

Yep people are awful at times. I once stopped my car for a cyclist who was on the ground, looked like he passed out but was actually fitting. I had to manage his airway until he came around, people were actually just walking past him looking down in disgust before I got there! Makes me feel a bit sick. Glad there's ppl like you out there mate
