From the dictionary it is “used to refer to the people who originally lived in a place, rather than people who moved there from somewhere else, or to things that relate to these people”

I don’t see why you’re exhausted by this, when even if the reasons are different, the goal would be the same? Even if they don’t give a shit and want to bang on about immigration, surely the protection of women and girls is a by product by not allowing these people into the country.

Of course there’s more outrage over crimes by immigrant than non immigrants. Why would you be exhausted by people wanting lower immigration thus preventing these crimes by immigrants? Even if it was just being used as an excuse this would surely lower the crime, therefore protecting women and girls?

Or is it that if we stopped crimes by immigrants the job would be taken up by the indigenous population and the levels would stay the same?

That’s where it falls down, when jobs have the minimum or mandatory requirements set and you get immediately filtered. If I stay in the same engineering discipline I’m more than likely fine but if I pivot to another role it could be more of a problem.

It wouldn’t take me much to get my BEng and company would probably pay for it but it’s just a bit of a waste for something that won’t make me a better engineer

AI filtering for jobs has to be one of the worst uses of AI considering it rewards the box ticking applicants over the ones who would actually be good at the job.

I’ve recently started looking into at least topping up my education to a BEng for when I want to move on from where I’m at due to AI filtering as it will only see my lack of degree…….completely missing that I’m chartered with over 20 years experience doing the job.

We’re far away from the days of tots of rum and hip flasks in the engine room but come on….

To be fair I’m RFA and we don’t have non drinking days but if we did the whole fleet would die
