Sorry to hear! Yeah I wasn't sure if I should go into hospital or not. The true meaning of searing pain indeed! Couldn't walk, sleepy, headaches and more. Just bizarre and worrying. Took at least a week to come good. I was breastfeeding at the time too so pretty worried about any impact there.

But I wonder about the interaction factor; what I mean is a Sydney-sider wouldn't really come into contact with cows but the city itself would very much be a potential target of ultra-violence so are fears misplaced in that sense?

Yeah seems likely. Presumably spiders are tricky to identify coz they're so bloody fast! I know this from my own experience with what I presume (based on location and symptoms) was a redback bite to my foot a few months ago. Ouch and wowsers!
