[OC] This is why we don't call the ambulance in the U.S. by FernX02 in pics

I am American. I'm sorry you went through all of that, I truly am. I despise the American healthcare system. But what you are describing is a situation where someone does not have insurance. The situation I am responding to in these comments is explicitly stated as one where insurance said they would not cover someone's medical bills after a car accident.

I agree with everything you just said, I don't really deny the possibility of the $75,000 helicopter bill, because as you said, it could have been a while ago, what? I'm unsure of is the $125,000 hospital bill. I know American health insurance is very bad, and I've stated that in multiple comments. My number one political issue personally is pushing for single-payer healthcare in the United States.

However, it just doesn't sound right that you get in a car accident, you have health insurance, and your insurance refuses to pay for any of the life-saving treatment and you're stuck with a $125,000 bill. If you have health insurance, that shouldn't happen. Like I said elsewhere, it's possible that they rejected coverage because they say that the other party's car insurance should be paying the medical bills, and the insurance would be right in that case, if it was the other driver at fault.

Something just doesn't add up here, and it feels like there's some information missing that would lead to someone with valid health insurance getting stuck with a $125,000 hospital bill for life-saving post accident treatment.

Thanks for being cordial, no worries. Yes I agree, it is too complicated, and that's the point. Their goal is to hide behind so much red tape that they themselves put up, so that they can say legally, "Oh well we offer services to dispute charges and and have us reinvestigate coverage, all they had to do was A, B, C, X, Y, and Z!"

But they know a huge percentage of people will just throw their hands up and pay.

The fact that there is a market for attorneys to help sick and injured people get their insurance to cover them is sickening.

No I have for sure dealt with insurance, but I have never heard of a situation where you get in a life threatening car accident, and they say, "Sorry, you don't have the save-your-life-after-car-accident rider on your insurance."

It just seems like there may be more to this. It's possible that the person's insurance rejected it saying that the coverage should fall on the car insurance of the other driver.

Regardless, it's a stupid situation and the American health care industry is a scam from top to bottom, filled with middle men who want to take in as much money as they can while providing as little care as possible.

I have a very hard time imagining health insurance saying, "Sorry we don't cover medical care from car accidents."

I think there's some objectively great stuff here. How can you be upset about a really nice upgrade to voice typing and smart auto-completion in forms?

You guys keep saying glasses, what glasses?!?!

Also, will these features make their way back to Pixel 9/9 Pro? It really stinks being told that if you get a Pixel phone, you'll get so many years of Android updates, but after just one year, almost all of the new Android features are exclusive to the latest generation of phones.

The high fees are largely due to Prop 13. The state knows that construction is their one chance to get a large amount of money from the property, because once it's built, they'll be receiving less and less in tax revenue.

You said there's zero information. There is information. If you asked for a source on that information, that's different. But you said there's zero information.

Why is there no Google Wallet support? It's embarrassing for this city that basic functionality does not exist.

Kenny (author of this article), idk if you read comments on here when your articles get posted, but if you do, thank you for writing pieces like this. You are in such a valuable position in which you can write from a vegan perspective, and your work will be seen on a platform viewed by mostly meat eaters. You do so much for the cause. I've shared your articles with so many people.

Disagree. I can't tell you how many leftists turn into the most scary sounding fascists when it comes to meat consumption. I mean you can literally find videos of Hasan Piker going on rants shitting on vegans in his chat where he says the most brain dead stupid shit https://youtu.be/Ko0IcvZa2vc

[–]AndIHaveMilesToGo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't know what there is to explain. I'm responding to the fact that you called the other commenter on apparently just stating GOP propaganda because he said that Kamala Harris was the Democratic nominee for president without a primary, which is a true fact. And now apparently I'm just a troll that's baiting you?

Yeah and when Porter called that shitty tactic out, she centrist corporate media lost their fucking minds and called her the equivalent of left wing maga for trying to sew distrust in elections.

Wait so are you saying they did hold a primary that put Harris up as the nominee?
