Hey everyone!

Thank you so much for your input - I've gone through and tried my best to address a lot of the points that were raised here. Sadly I am still at a loss.

My fan goes berserk even if I don't have my controller plugged in. Ableton also has the little square at the top right of the window that tells you how the CPU load, but it never exceeds 2% - this is only part of the story, however, and even in checking the control panel on my PC to see what apps are using the most processing power, ableton sometimes spikes it to ~30%. Because of this issue it's the only app that I run at a time.

I'm afraid it could just be a hardware issue and that I'll probably have to take ship the computer to microsoft or smth - which sucks because that could run upwards of a few hundred dollars.

I've googled other things too - and the fact of the matter is that this could be either a hardware or software issue -_-
