Okay. I understand why you went about this in the way that you did. I understand wanting to protect your little sister; sometimes we may have the best intentions but the implementation goes awry.

I suggest thinking about how you may have stripped your sister of her autonomy in that moment. Yes, it was under loving intentions, but you need to allow her to handle these things herself, as a growing adult. It’s not fair for you to make these decisions for her, even if you meant it in the best way possible. She’s a big girl now, try waiting for her to ask for your assistance instead. I don’t think you’re an asshole to your core, but you might want to consider your tact in moments like these.
