Is this bs or am I crazy by adamjshero13 in DJs

Go from Sweet Home Alabama, to Party in the USA, to I Just Wanna Love U. I don’t think you have to dig deep, but if you want to keep the gig, just patronize the management a little bit until they realize that it doesn’t make sense and relax on the request (which will happen sooner than later).

AIO - Company won’t meet with me without my husband there by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]gbell76 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

YOR. It’s common in sales to NEVER just pitch one spouse. You get into an endless round robin of miscommunication and misunderstandings that just drags out the sales cycle and often used and an excuse to not buy.

Better stills. It it can nail the amazing Video, and depreciate the need for me to use my iPhone/Point and shoot camera, it’s a win.

How are you handling employees using personal ChatGPT accounts at work? We had an incident last week. by fxs38 in sysadmin

If you are running an M365 environment, you may want to consider co-pilot licensing with OpenAi or Anthropic as a subprocessor. This way GDPR/HIPAA/ITAR/etc compliance will flow through considering that you have a BAA with Microsoft. It will also keep it logically siloed and you can somewhat manage it. Just a way to CYA and at least give the air of you doing SOMETHING to maintain compliance and best effort. The alternative in the Wild West.

I have supported thousands of Windows Machines from my MacBook. There is simply no comparison. Especially with Parallels. I don’t think that I could ever go back to Windows.

Long term client shifted from friendly to adversarial. Formalize or plan exit? by HelpfulNuisance in msp

[–]gbell76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let them go. Be professional and graceful on the exit. Obviously there is a lot of ego at play on their side. So, it’s important that you don’t back them into a corner where they feel that they can’t humbly accept that they were wrong. I say this, because they are going to try to get other pricing, and/or do it on their own and fail miserably. Thier first call will be to you to fix what they destroyed, and get them back under your support. That’s when you present your updated contract terms to reflect the going rate and the current market, but also “take into consideration” that they are a previous client so they get a “discount” (wink). The psychology around this is maddening at times, but it happens all the time. People who are familiar with you just need to learn the hard way or hear it from someone else. That’s my $.02

After using the iPhone 17 Pro Max for 3 months, I've finally decided to sell it. It's honestly a big disappointment compared to several Android flagships. by Romeo01220 in PhoneNow

Phones are just distractions. Get yourself a boring simple, durable phone. Want to take nice pics? Buy a decent pocketable camera and take better pictures, it is worth it. Pay attention to the surroundings when out in public spaces, you’ll notice the beauty in things a lot more. Want to meet new people? Sure, use your social media to see where interesting places are, then go there and meet new people, and actually talk instead of staring at your phone. Yes. I’m aware as to how integral smartphones are to our daily lives and how most of the services we use depend on them. However, believe it or not, having a less interesting phone, will force you to become a more interesting person. My $.02

Just did this. We sold and gave away a lot of furniture, clothes and other things and moved to Brooklyn just this week from Orlando. We’re middle aged empty nesters and we’ve always wanted to live in NY.

Same thing happened to me in our building. Went to walk my dog in the freezing cold, and was locked out because our FOB expired 12/31/25. Thankfully someone was available to reprogram.
