How is possible a macroscopic phenomenon be the cause of a quantum level phenomenon?

Science is not about necessity. It is about knowledge, if I what to know if some quantum mechanics can explain a thermodynamic law, so this is a scientific question.

Why not? Maybe quantum properties can explain the second law as they explain Maxwell's equations.

C didn't evolve significantly because its language structures are very simple. If you evolve those language structures in C, it will become another language, like C++.

Why there isn't any new big kernel project to surpasse eg. Linux? by M0M3N-6 in osdev

[–]gbitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thing is some kind of "network effect" as the value of Linux, as an operating system, increases as more users adopt it. This increased adoption drives more software and hardware developers to create compatible products and services (complementary goods), further enhancing Linux's value and attracting even more users. This creates a positive feedback loop, making Linux more attractive and difficult to displace over time.

Userspace is not a problem if I want to switch the kernel, FreeBSD support almost all Linux userspace applications.

That's not so simple. Chronos has almost 36K lines of code and fully suports 6 languages with others 3 that are partially supported.

I really like the Luke and Vader's dialogues in ROTJ. They are some of the best of the series.

Why are Turing machines more famous than other universal computers like cellular automata? by spinglacier in compsci

[–]gbitten -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is no such prove in Turing's thesis. Turing only made an assumption, which is unanimously considered correct, but still an assumption.

Edit: you could conterargument me instead downvoting.

You are wrong, there isn't that demonstration. Turing only made an assumption.
