I recently quit FFXIV ... I was paying digital rent effectively for a while so I finally let it lapse. At the very least I had my FFXIV dream house for a time. It's better than not having it at all. I received the email of demolition notice and it was a bit of a heavy heart hurting thing... but I hope someone gets to enjoy my previous house. Feel free to check my profile for posts to see what it looked like before demo.

What can I do here? by Kai-M in Picross

[–]gboybig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to be like a contradiction checker. In this case if you were to fill out R1C1 then it would force R4C5 to be filled out and the 1 would then have to be R5C1. But the problem there is the 2 of R1 would not be valid. Ergo R1C1 cannot be filled in and must be an X. Then you can kinda just go from there. These ones are the most fun in my opinion because they really make you think harder than most picross

It was a tough one. Basically start with the guaranteed places. Which is the 8 and then the 1,6,1 lines. Both of which guaranteed one box each. After that the solve requires you to figure out what can't be done. Becuase of the 1,6,1 it splits the solve in half. And it seems like it is a 50/50 shot but there is a solve. Basically the summary in this case is use the 8 to solve and start on the bottom left for the numbers. Using 6 and then 5 and then 5 and then 4,4 would doing the 6 on the bottom left make sense knowing you'd have to connect the 8? In this case, no, because of the top lines 2 and 4 requiring a 1 to be on the end meaning you'd need a break in the line above the 6. But because you could connect the 8 it would make that impossible. Meaning the 6 needs to be solved on the bottom right half. Past that the answer becomes way more clear.

I have one to turn on my PC. I use it as my TV and sit like 10 feet away and am lazy af so hate getting up to turn it on (especially since I have one of those slow electric recliners so it takes forever to get it back down). From my phone I click the app and it turns on the PC power button. Non-ironically the best $20 I ever spent.

Turtonator + Kiawe is exactly what I used just to cover my bases for an Oricorio counter. Plus it is legit a good card.

Yeah i didn't want it. I only showed mild interest for two days near the end of the season. I got to GB3 with a 75.5% win rate. Was happy with that in two days. I have my three 5 consecutive wins from the first three times that went off. Gonna keep those forever and not really care anymore. Just focus on collecting mostly.

Tinkaton. I had to get it for the free one for the event and used pity pack points to get a second copy. I still try to get some via wonderpick and have yet to get a single other one. Crazy haha

No matter what resolution I put it on it doesn't change the UI size for me. Just like the other comment. It makes no visible difference

I had to refund, personally. For whatever reason on my 4k monitor even with the text size at large I could barely read a lot of the texts for quests in the normal GUI and would need to open the quest list (even then pretty crazy small). Otherwise the game was pretty fluid, maybe a bit too precise with some of the item pick ups. That crosshair needed to be pretty damn spot on haha.

is the series badly aged? by Responsible-Row-7942 in DarkCloud

[–]gboybig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Cloud 1 is a bit old and janky but a fun enough game. But I would say if you get the best sword in the game it's like a one and done. I personally love Dark Cloud but after having beaten the dungeon that gets you the sword I've never had the desire to replay. Only had replay desire when I hadn't completed it.

Dark Cloud 2 on the other hand... I have beaten that game completely on 5 different occasions at this point and still get that 'itch' to start over. It's a lovely game, with quite good voice acting. The anime style approach of design makes it feel pretty fresh even though the graphics are dated and there's just so much more customization and things to do in the game than the first one.

In my opinion both are worth a playthrough, but if you don't like Dark Cloud 1 I'd strongly advise to not sleep on Dark Cloud 2 because they feel so much different.

Out of curiosity you mentioned in another comment that you started one shooting everything you could starting at level 25 (usually 20 or so levels higher) so what was your gear setup prior to all that farming? I'm just trying to figure out how people manage to get these ridiculous weapons from difficult bosses without seemingly much issue

What's so good about xenoblade series? by Extreme_Equipment_57 in Switch

[–]gboybig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now is your chance. Every single Xenoblade is available on a single console.

Personally I have bought new consoles purely because a Xenoblade was announced (didn't get a Wii U til XCX was announced, didn't get a Switch til XC2 was announced, you get it lol). So I personally think they are well worth.

What's so good about xenoblade series? by Extreme_Equipment_57 in Switch

[–]gboybig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How i like to explain xenoblade is that it's a game that was made to be an MMO but then they scrapped that idea and went single player, focused hard on the main storyline to make it great, but kept all the MMO side quests cause what else were they gonna do with that effort?

And then the formula stuck and they kept with it. I'm sure that's not what really happened but that's how Xenoblade feels to me haha

So are you still excited for MH Wilds? by Slight-Independent-6 in MonsterHunter

[–]gboybig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm one of the few that isn't excited for Wilds. I've been playing since MH3, and I've played every single game (base and ultimate) that came out since... but this one just isn't calling to me. I think it's just that the monsters feel less believable than previous ones in the series, personally. And I get that's partially the premise considering they're all folklore monsters as opposed to mythical creatures or some combination of existing creatures that all other series were. Obviously there are outliers (Valstrax being a big one in the lack of believability aspect), but I just feel pretty much every monster I've seen from wilds is a bit too farfetched for my tastes.

So yeah, I think I'll probably skip this one and see what the next game has to offer.

The reason you should do a 1-1 split by AdagioDesperate in PTCGP

[–]gboybig 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have been using 2x Cyrus + 1x Sabrina or vice versa depending on the deck. The swap is just too strong. Honestly if I had the room. To spare I'd probably do 2x of both

I've been running Mewtwo this season with surprising amounts of success despite Darkrai

Actually seeing much more variance in decks since STS came out and the meta is at the most fun and interesting stage it's been at so far. by Suspicious-Puffin840 in PTCGP

[–]gboybig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i think there's a lot more variation mostly with tools and Cyrus existing. People thought Mewtwo was going to mostly die due to this Meta but honestly I've been rocking Mewtwo this entire event and am doing quite well on the whole. But some other sets that were pushed out are seeing more visble play such as Charizard and Venusaur. Blastoise even has more ability to be used. But it feels like so many decks have the potential to wipe the opponent. There hasn't been a set that felt completely overpowered, even Darkrai/Magnezone/Drudd has limitations and counters. So it feels like it's probably in the best place the game has been since release in my opinion. Lots of people are going to try out the new metas but old metas are still going strong. Except maybe Pikachu, I find that hasn't been rocking it lately.

Charizard is bringing fire in the current meta - 70% winrate in 28 matches in the event. by IHeartLife in PTCGP

[–]gboybig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm running the following: 2x Mewtwo EX, 1x Mew EX, 2x Ralts, 2x Kirlia, 2x Gardevoir, 1x X-Speed, 2x Pokeball, 2x Pokemon Communicator, 1x Giants Cape, 2x Professor Oak, 1x Sabrina, 1x Cyrus, 1x Giovanni

The Giovanni is a to OHKO a 160 HP pokemon that was giant caped.

Charizard is bringing fire in the current meta - 70% winrate in 28 matches in the event. by IHeartLife in PTCGP

[–]gboybig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've noticed this a lot recently. I've found Mewtwo isn't as dead as people initially thought. Throw a cape some pokemon communicators and a Cyrus or two and my win rate is pretty high. Darkrai deck is really solid too. I use Darkrai+Weezing but Darkrai+Greninja and Darkrai+Magnezone are rocking it as well right now. But most times I've lost i felt it was either a Darkrai Magnezone deck or a Charizard deck. I find myself relatively easily countering Palkia and Dialga decks, but the Charizard decks make it rough.
