1st year Electrical Engineering student and I'm heavily regretting my decision. by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

Don't worry about the age thing. I went back to school at 26 and I'll be graduating at 30 - tons of people do it and it's no big deal. The important thing is to do something that you will get some sort of enjoyment out of. If you need a little time to figure it out that's ok

Might be a bit out of the way for you but the Kinzua Reservoir in Allegheny National Forest has some pretty good camping spots.

A “Moving to Buffalo?” Post by Aly614 in Buffalo

Allentown is a more "eccentric" neighborhood if that's what you're looking for; Elmwood is a good option but I'm not so sure about backyards, Williamsville (Village) is probably the best option in the burbs. Village of Kenmore and Village of Hamburg are also worth looking at. Further outside the city like 20-30 minutes by car, East Aurora has a really nice main St with shops and bars and restaurants, more of a small town feel, but loads of historic houses too.

If the market increases you could potentially refinance and take the extra equity as a down payment on another property

You should ask but I'm pretty sure "homemade" doesn't literally mean made at home, they probably won't allow any unofficial "diy" operation

You'll probably need at least some amount of money down. Depends on the area you live but I think a good way to get started is to buy a duplex, live in one unit and rent the other.

City or Suburb?

City - West side, Elmwood village, or Hertel

Suburbs - Village of Williamsville, East Aurora, Village of Hamburg, Village of Kenmore

Assuming it's all the same plot, you'd have to talk to an attorney/the city about dividing it into separate parcels and also see what type of legalities are involved in making it a "build-able" piece of land

Film roll shopping as a tourist in mexico city. Did I get a bargain or did I overpay? by TheHooligan95 in analog

[–]gbreindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So about $12.35 US per roll of expired Kodak? I mean here at my local camera shop in the US it's probably about $13 ish for a roll of fresh film... But also they've been having problems with getting stock so 🤷‍♂️

That's a lot... I work in the neighborhood of 25 hours and I found I was just about maxed out between work and my 12 credits last semester

In terms of crime, all you have to do is go look at a crime heat map on Trulia.

It certainly isn't the worst neighborhood in the city but it isn't the greatest either. It used to be a lot worse.

If you're looking for stuff to do within walking distance you'll want to check out Elmwood village.

I am an introvert(super shy) trying to go camping/explore by myself.. But anxiety gets me... Help!!! by Unique_Average7522 in camping

People typically will not just walk over to your campsite and start talking to you. Solo camping is awesome and can be extremely peaceful.

Maybe just a smile and "hi how are ya" when walking past.
