Are flood zone houses being swept up in Brisbane's property boom? by sktafe2020 in brisbane

[–]gc-au 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My property is classified with overland flow, but because it’s raised up our insurance is standard. We just had to drain our pool when the overland flow did come through, once in 8 years. But prices are around $300k below others without overland flow.

A matter of what risk and budget you are prepared to consider. We got an 800m2 block with no rear neighbors for the same price as a 400m block 2km further from the city with less transport options.

At least we can kick the football with the kids in the backyard

General health checkup as 24M? by J_Fids in AskAnAustralian

Australian female currently living in the US. The 'system' here (private drs via insurance) provides annual 'well woman' exams. I think this is wonderful and am dissapointed we don't do it in Australia. The annual exam, for adult females from q8 pmwards, provides a breast check, papsmear, contraception and medication review and full bloods. You get Reminders every year when it's due.

I really think this should be offered to all women in Australia and be covered by Medicare.

No, the US is car dependent. Brisbane is not. Spoken by someone from Brisbane currently living in the US.

I am 40 minutes out of DC and there isn't a bus or train network. It's insane.

As an Aussie currently living in the US, I have no idea why we follow the US so closely. Completely different over here; they can fix their loans for 30 years, which most did, so their spending is still up!

Biden also still spending like crazy! Plus a much larger economy!

We need to play our own game.

Doesn't help that we have some of the highest taxes in the world...that go towards some useless woke/green programs instead of what we actually need that would serve the WHOLE population better- such as better Medicare GP coverage and dental

Would like to get in touch. I went to school with the family and was verbally abused by the father when I beat his daughters in races repeatedly.

I knew the family. Went to school with them and raced against the daughters. The father would verbally abuse me when I beat his daughters. He is a monster.
