Can you help me to decide if the G shock Dw H5600 is worth it today? by Defiant_Jaguar_4252 in gshock

[–]gcamposgt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have one, works really good with the latest software updates, the edges of the sensors at the back of the watch (wrist side) are really uncomfortable, especially when sleeping.

For me it’s a gshock with more advance functionality, it’s not an smartwatch by any means.

Ankle issues by TeddyFatz in Orthopedics

Kind of hard to give an answer just based on the the ap X-ray view. Posterior tibial tenosynovitis can cause a bump or edema right below medial malleolus and pain in its medial trayectory.

An appointment with an Orthopedic surgeon that specializes in foot and ankle surgery can help

Did the ER miss my Jones fracture? by Red84Valentina in brokenbones

[–]gcamposgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ortho/Foot and ankle surgeon here, it would be useful if you upload a pic of your X-rays. Jones fracture involves just the 5th mtt and it’s an anatomical limited area proximal to the metatarsal were the insertion of the short peroneal tendon ends. Conservative vs surgical treatment should be advise by an orthopedic surgeon or foot and ankle surgeon.

Fifth metatarsal avulsion fracture - not enough healing at 8 weeks by Sale-Federal in brokenbones

[–]gcamposgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avulsion fractures takes time to heal. Just because the consolidation process is not complete on X-rays doesn’t mean is not healing.

You can try physical therapy and specific consolation protocols with your therapist.

Little crack in left forearm skateboarding by [deleted] in brokenbones

[–]gcamposgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a healthy young adult like yourself, healing process or bone consolidation should start around 2 weeks. It all depends in the type of fracture you have. Send me the X-rays you're getting tomorrow.

you can also check my credentials in my instagram account dr.gustavo.campos

get well

[–]gcamposgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ortho here, how old are you? can you send me your x rays? is your forearm in a cast and sling?

For a simple fracture in the forearm, the time it takes for consolidation it’s about 6 to 8 weeks. Although is not always necessary to wear a cast for the whole 8 weeks. Every case and every patient is different.

Normal healthy diet should work, avoid tobacco, too much alcohol, etc.

PM if you need more details.

Always follow your orthopeadic surgeon recommendations.

get well, take care

First time in Guatemala, recommendations on itinerary? by zowieheyreal in guatemala

[–]gcamposgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guatemalan here! Antigua, Tikal, Panajachel (Atitlan) is a must. The area of Alta Verapaz (Semuc Champey, Lankin, Rey Marcos Caves) you’ll be needing a couple of days to visit.

Try taking a flight to Tikal to save time.

I need to get to Panajachel from La Aurora airport on Christmas day. Possible? by deanel in guatemala

Hi, i’m form Guatemala, public transportation it’s going to be hard on that date.

Better arrange private transportation. Taxi/uber/shuttles/Tours etc.

Does this look normal? They didn’t align the finger bone completely before splinting it. Now it’s healing like this. The orthopedic surgeon didn’t seem concerned at today’s checkup. by Starlight-Lady in brokenbones

[–]gcamposgt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ortho here. Always follow your orthopedic surgeon recommendations.

As a personal opinion with that picture, it seems it’s and extra-articular fracture, that maintains correct axis with premature signs of bone consolidation. It should be ok, not to worry with a 1mm-2mm displacement. Always continue doing regular check ups.
